What absolutely makes no sense to me is that the mutilation of Buddy (the pet dog) was ruled out (preemptively?) as not being connected with the quadruple murder/mutilation of the four students. After all, how many knife related crimes happen in the Moscow, Idaho area?

Cannot wait til they find whoever did this. I used to love following true crime when I was younger. I grew up and my heart couldn’t handle any sad stories. I’ll stay updated with news and try not to focus on bad things happening for my mental health. But this story struck me in a way none ever has. I feel sick to my stomach and can’t sleep. Something so evil and beyond comprehension. In 2022 I expected more out of people than this. I can’t wrap my mind around any of it. Just pray they find them asap. 😢

Unfortunately answers sometimes don't come in weeks. Delphi took about six years. Golden State took about 30. I hope answers here come soon

I agree 100%. Let the Investigator's do their jobs. There's no way for people on the outside to really know what information should and shouldn't be released. Look at the Delphi Case and the gun information. Had that been released, the suspect would've probably gotten rid of the gun, and then what? I feel terrible for the family, but they have to watch what they say. As for the public, this isn't about us and our need for information. It's about finding the SOB responsible, and securing a successful prosecution.

Kaylee's newer Range Rover has a 4 camera/ 360 video system. Believe she just got this vehicle. It has the capability to video- even when car is not in operations. I understand they took the car for evidence/ fingerprints- but do they know this car has this kind of capabilities. Land Rover Corp needs to be contacted. One target, 3 eye witnesses. Believe it started on the 3rd floor. They definitely heard screaming, think this is why Ethan got up & left bedroom, after killer came down stairs I believe Ethan was then attacked & then Xana, who fought back then killed. Think killer wanted no witnesses because they knew who he was. Kaylee was I think graduating in Dec. of this year. So she was probably packing up her stuff & might had boxes all over her room- maybe that's why she was sleeping in Maddie's room There are 2 Jacks & 2 Jakes many seem to be speculating about- but one J.S.- more than others- does check some boxes- pic of him from FB as hunter killing deer then used big knife- but.. we just don't know for sure yet. Innocent until found guilty- not speculative guilt- found guilt. Pray there is DNA of killer in that house.

it was Jack Showalter the guy in the hood he did it the dumb cops let him go now he is in anouther country....he was recently kicked out of his fraternity chapter of Delta Tau Delta at the University of Idaho for inappropriate behavior towards women at parties....He didn’t take a DNA test.... he is gone way to go police good job...

Why did Jake Showalter hang around the food truck clearly looking/stalking/talking to the girls then once they leave he suddenly disappears. He didn’t just slowly walk away. He shot off as if he was in a rush somewhere. He knew the girls and Ethan. He lived close by. He was kicked out of the Idaho fraternity. There’s photos of him literally butchering dead animals with similar knives to the murder weapon. He was a wrestling champion in college so he could’ve easily taken Ethan down if he was confronted by him. He then drove 5 hours away to a cabin in the MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT! He was questioned then was let go and he somehow ends up in Africa!!!! Sorry but that’s to way too obvious and too many coincidences to say he’s not the suspect. They just haven’t caught him yet because they need enough sufficient evidence to fully prosecute him. Plus he’s in Africa. Coincidently, there are laws in certain countries in Africa where they cannot be extradited back to the US. It’ll come though!

I feel one of those "Cleared" is the killer. And Kaylee was the target and possibly Maddie, since they were such close friends.

Whoever did this was either high on something crazy, possessed or both!!! I though the families have already received their loved ones home... Chris mentions that’s why they want this thing to come to an end because they just wanna have the funerals, that’s not the case. Kaylee‘s mom said she doesn’t even wanna have the funeral until whoever is caught in fear that they would show up.

In South Korea, I am pretty sure now it's mandatory to have dash cameras on all cars in the country. The dash cameras are triggered by motion, so if people walk by a parked camera. The dash camera will still record a few seconds. It has helped South Korean police solve many crimes but also makes going anywhere almost impossible without being noticed by "big brother".

I know we’re 3 weeks in and we all want this guy caught. We have to remember this case is huge and LE is gonna wanna make sure they have built solid case with as much evidence as possible. They’re gonna want this guy to never see the light of day again, ever. It’s gonna take time for all of this to take place.

Police can get DNA of a suspect from their home if necessary. A search warrant and hey presto , DNA . The suspect can be in Whoop Whoop .

The entire story about the report of the unconscious person being reported has been explained by the people who were involved in the 911 call. The unconscious person refers to the 1st floor roommate who discovered Ethan dead and went hysterical and fainted. Another person reported her to 911 dispatch as unconscious. At that point no one knew about the four murders in the house. When police responded the four murders were discovered.

No way this is a stalker action planned in advance, no one decides to wipe off 4 kids over stalking, no it was a reaction to something that occured that night with yes surely another layer of anger, frustration built over time. This Jack looks very very guilty

Jack Showalter timeline: Food truck to girls house = approx 4 mins drive. He knew where they live, he went to their house before in a party as shown in Maddie's pics. Girls got a ride and he got pissed and rushed to his own car in the parking lot in the other direction and drove home next door. it was 1:56 am then when girls got home. I bet he went to his own appartment next door first after that.. Probably took 30 mins to put boots on, a mask, gloves, get his knife ready, think of a quick plan etc. Another 15-20 mins of spying outside to make sure he enters the house at the perfect time. That would bring the time to around 2:26 to 2:52 when girls were calling 7x Jack (ex). Probably wanted to say the other Jack (hoodie guy) was acting super weird or even saw him outside. Then he entered the home and killed them all. Logically, it makes sense.. especially if its true that night that he drove 5 hours to his parents house or went to Africa (not confirmed). Motive: rejected from his frat house, the bar club owner put him outside, the girls were ignoring him. Lives next door, got home same time as the girls.

I believe the killer knew where Kaylee lived but did not know which room she was in. So he “the online stalker/killer” , went through the siding door (2nd floor ) and the first room was Ethan and xana room. Wrong room. Ethan or xana must’ve heard someone open the door. So he had to kill them. After that situation, he went upstairs looking Kaylee. He’s already committed at this point and was driven to find her. When he found her, she received the most damage. Then he left, no need for him stay there longer and search the rest of the house

I still think this is a case where he had one person in mind to kill. 2 girls being in the same bed(one of which wasnt even supposed to live there) threw his plan off, made more noise than he expected, and a LOT more victims that he expected. To plan on killing 4 with a knife without being seen, without 911 being called just seems super risky to me.

I think Xana and the male triplet Ethan woke up, so that's why the killer had to kill them too, otherwise they would've called the police right away on him and he would've been caught. Because the police found Ethan on the floor of the bedroom so there was probably a struggle

I dunno why theyre asking the stores about recent knife purchases. This killer was obviously pretty skilled with this knife so its more likely that he had owned that knife for quite a while. It wasnt something he just went out and purchased for this crime.

The one advantage Moscow police have is that they're detectives are being taught and trained by some of the finest law enforcement officers and agencies in the county, state and country right now. Not being familiar with murder in their community, they also don't have bad habits that needed to be corrected. They are learning the right way, , the correct procedure, the due process, and getting their knowledge first hand from a combined, dedicated team of well trained investigators. Something tells me they are going to prevail. It has all the makings that this i going to be their finest hours.

I do feel that they know a lot more and it's good that they aren't releasing anything. I also think that the real truth of this story is stranger than what we are all thinking.

Selfies by these women on TikTok gave pictures of their residence as they lived alone. Killers crossed state line for this? Social media stalking and crime, murder happens. Young students need to know how to secure their safety....

A friend that was there with the two surviving roommates said one of the survivors fainted and that is why the 911 call said a person unconscious. Also they said that the girl ran out screaming and that is why people came to help. Js I really know nothing more than what I have heard from people who posted these answers.

Two girls in one room, the other two in the other. The red liquid dripping down the foundation wall from the 2nd floor bedroom is heating medium for radiant floor heat. The two survivors were on the first floor, with the dog, dog sitting. The killer came in through the open sliding glass door on the second floor. The killer probably saw the lights go on and off upstairs, he may have even seen his intended target in that time, through the window. It would be worthwhile to check the router log. *Police told reporter that the red liquid was heating oil, it isn't heating oil- it is oil used to heat. It stays red, even when exposed to oxygen. It came from the floor and room where Xana and Ethan would have been, except that Kaylee had vacated her room upstairs, because she was moving out, so Kaylee was in the other room with her friend Madison and the couple were in the other heated room upstairs. The upstairs rooms were very visible from the woods. The killer would have been able to watch the 4 return 2 by 2 and where they went by watching the lights turn on and off. The Father at the memorial service spoke about the two girls dying in the same bed. Another officer familiar with the scene told a reporter that all of the victims were upstairs on the third floor. The survivors told witnesses and police that the sliding glass door was open. The dog, was uninjured, did not try to flee or bark, and was sent directly to the shelter, it was not part of evidentiary collection. As the girls planned on being out very late, it would be logical that they made arrangements for the dog to be taken care of, and it would not be likely that they would have woken up the dog-sitter to get the dog at 3 am. Is possible the one of the surviving roommates find them, faint and the other one hear something, found the fainted girl and call her friends, then they found the victims. We don't know! and we have to let LE do their job, but they need a better person for communications, that was a disaster.

If the investigators have a working suspect with supporting evidence and they don't or have not taken this person into custody and are allowing them to roam freely in the community, this is a big problem. This murderer is a maniac and is capable of anything.

Ever heard of the 'one room jailhouse' for these kinda criminals? Well, one gets sentenced, they put him in the jailhouse. Next person sentenced sent to the jailhouse, first criminal taken out and shot. I think it would lower costs, be more effective at reducing these horrible type crimes.

The problem is it can be hard to balance the information released to the public and having the proper information to prosecute. However as the case moves on the authorities will need to release more info in order to get more clues. 113 pieces of evidence would tell me the investigators have some solid theories. However the Delphi case shows it could take a long time. The video in that case is a good example (length released to the public)

The police are silent because they messed this entire thing up. They cleared that kid at the food truck thinking it would make him relax and act normal so they could gather evidence and the kid bounced to Africa with his wealthy parents. Now they don’t want to say anything. This kid was at the foos truck. Didn’t buy any food. Left when the girls left the food truck. Then he Andes up 5 hours away at his parents cabin. Then he left for Africa. He didn’t go to the memorials. He left the campus. He’s a hunter that has no problem with blood or dressing an animal in the wild. He was also kicked out of his fraternity for anger issues. Left before he could give dna. Left before he could be interviewed more. 🤷‍♂️

Cuomo is always one of my favorite reporters. He offers great perspective and explanation of potential scenarios and the current state of affairs. The authorities ALWAYS know much more than what is shared or conveyed to the public.

Jack DuCouer is my main suspect. Motive. Breakup. Maddie's secret "everything". And ten unanswered calls to Jack at 2am. Jack even grew a beard to hide his face.
