I have not watched Season 1b because procrastination and I don't want to yet so stop asking

As a neurodivergent myself, I am autistic and I can relate to a majority of this and it really makes me feel better watching cartoons that represent neurodivergence and it always lets me know that there are people out there that are like me and maybe I should feel good about being on the spectrum because it makes us unique

As someone with ADHD it makes me so happy to see characters that stim. It makes me feel included and valid. :3

As a neurodivergant, I can usually smell fellow people on the spectrum from a mile away. But I guess that doesn’t apply to cups and mugs, as I never noticed these things until now!

Now that someone mentioned it, I accept it as cannon that the Cuphead brothers and Chalice are neurodivergent. I didn’t really think about or notice it until I saw this video. Usually I can spot a neurodivergent character from mile away, being neurodivergent myself. (ASD to be specific.) I really appreciate and love this video for so many reasons. ASD makes me who I am-kind, quirky, optimistic and creative. I take great joy and pride in being on the spectrum, and the fact that the Cuphead show portrays the Cuphead brothers and Chalice as neurodivergent makes me so happy. Especially since I am hyper fixated on cartoons and collectibles, and the Cuphead show is the latest cartoon I have been binging repeatedly. I love the show even more now because of this video, which I didn’t think was possible. Thank you form the bottom of my heart for bringing this to light. The world needs more people like you.

As someone with autism, I can confirm that nearly everything in on these two cupbros. It’s really amazing to see neurodiversity in this show and in Donatello’s character in the new TMNT show.

I’m autistic and have OCD ADHD and bipolar disorder so seeing this in a show and seeing people who are like me with the same disorder makes me feel less alone and that I don’t belong!! This makes day so much better

I came in expecting some dumb compilation but keep in mind this compilation (based on episodes being 11 minutes) is about 1/6 of the WHOLE first season. Plus I'm neurodivergent so I think I know more terms on this list than most casual versions

One could say they did this on purpose to relate with the audience more. It worked on me. I'm autistic and my younger brother has ADHD. So cuphead and mugman are even more relatable now that I realize how much neurodivergent energy they give off!

my husband is both HDHD and (high functioning) autistic and yess. esp remembering something getting you distracted from current task.

I would say that some of these can be chalked up to the cupbros being young (ex. the whole pocket lint thing and Cuphead ignoring social cues in Roll the Dice) but I absolutely agree with you. Cuphead has one of the most insane cases of unmedicated childhood adhd ive ever seen (source: I WAS that kid in elementary school) and Mugman def has autism and problems with sensory overload and rsd, especially in season 2 with the ice cream and piano episodes. I would also argue that Cuphead has a hyperfixation on explosives, especially because of the Lost in the Woods ep in season 2 where he just. wouldn't. stop. using. them. also you know how some autistic people will just walk on pointe everywhere? I feel like Chalice is like that but with tap dancing.

idk alot of the things theyre doing is things some humans do anyway, on top of the over dramatic gestures and such are things that are heavily normalized and comical in old cartoons which is what its modeled after. and thats coming from someone concerning autism and adhd.
