Very informative, I have the Cupar roof bars and Thule cycle carriers however I need the bolts for the t-track. Can you pls tell me the size of the part (bolt foot) that slides into the roof bar. Thanks
I don't have it with me right now to tell you the exact measure, but the bike racks kit came with some plated bolts and the plate of the bolt (bolt foot) was a square roughly 1.5cm (assuming the track width is 2cm). It was enough to hold the rack in place, but not as wide as the track. I simply purchased some metal washers that would compensate for the gap. For a universal roof basket I purchased regular bolts with nuts and metal washers as wide as the track and that's how I attached it too. For your info, assuming the tracks are 2cm, then the VW cargo box had a perfect fit bolt foot rectangular shape 2cm x 3cm.
