I'm a parrot person but your finch is so super cute I had to subscribe. I cracked up when he chased you away from the phone, and earlier i saw the video where you were play fighting with him, which I totally didn't expect to see from a finch.
Awesome, welcome to the community! Another subscriber once said that goldfinches have very inquisitive, clownish, in other words: parrot-like personalities, and I think he was right :)
Hello everyone, I finally bought a real camera! Which means there will be regular updates from now on, and hopefully in a watchable quality. See you soon!
Leporello the Goldfinch - Birdtaming Tips & Tricks Hi there! Some people think this is a male goldfinch but unfortunately for you guys he is actually SHE... ABOVE BEAK THERE Isn't BLACK COLOUR BUT BROWN WICH IS TYPICAL FEMALE COLOUR... Also I have not heard single tune of male.... ....
+Aneesah Murphy LOL, nope: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gogzGXVKGvY.html For next time, try to remember that determining the sex of a goldfinch requires looking at more than one attribute (and in bad lighting...). A goldfinch that sings, has a full red mask, black cover feathers at the shoulders, a solid black cap, and not least of all a... male primary reproductive organ (!!!), is definitely a male. Also, males have a yellow feather in the elbow which females don't.
Looking at their feet is something birds do when they're thinking. It's generally followed either by preening of the belly feathers or by springing into action. :)
Let me guess - a gamera worked like a mirror? :) That's a male if see right? I wonder, are they as teritorial birds as canaries? I mean - not liking any surface, they can see themselves in? Amazing birdie! And soooo tamed.
Thank you! Oh, the mirrored surface is a good point! I think in this case it was rather because the camera lens has a few crevices and he likes to drill holes into things. :)
Hello , Could you tell us if the bird in this video is a male or a female? We have a new goldfinch And are trying to determine whether it is a boy or a girl. The mask which is supposed to extend beyond the eye in males, doesn’t really seem to; although the person who we got the bird from has told us it is a male. Thankyou For any information that you may be able to give, since you seem to really love European goldfinches.
I had goldfinch in my grandmother house whene i was 4 to 11 years whene he died she was a good owner and the bird know her well.I was thinking to buy her a new goldfinch now that im 22 plus she loves bird who sing i was curious do this bird eat your fingers like parrots ore they are not agressive.
Leporello the Goldfinch - Birdtaming Tips & Tricks yeah. There is a bird festival coming to my city that is actually selling them I just found out! But sadly I’m going to be away the two days it’s here 😔
I have a question and i hope i'm not being rude, why don't you cut your bird's nails? They seem a bit long than normal (english is not my language, sorry for bad english).
Goldfinches have longer nails than other birds, this is perfectly normal. I also avoid cutting birds' nails because 1) it is completely unnecessary, as the bird will trim them himself and 2) because grabbing a bird is almost inevitable for cutting the nails, but it's also the worst thing one can do.
@@leporellothegoldfinch oh i didn't know birds can trim their own nails, i'm sorry for asking this. I have two birds myself and when they stand on my finger it hurts a bit because of their nails. Thank you for answering my question, have a nice day! :D
Hi there, no need to apologise for a simple question :) Yes, depending on the size of your bird the nails can hurt (have you ever have had a falcon land on your arm without a glove? Ouch!). After all, a bird's nails are their weapons and a way to ensure they have a good grip on rough, coarse tree bark. These claws weren't exactly made for tender human fingers :) Nice day to you, too!
