Thank you so much for this video! I used to use a steamer to brush out the frizz and matting, and to restore waves I would set the hair in mesh rollers, apply steam, then allow it to dry completely (that’s critical and it takes FOREVER) I did something just a little different, but similar to your method: I set the hair in large, plastic rollers. I put the wig on the wig head and stand in the bathtub and wet the head completely with hot water on full blast for about a minute or so with the shower head, then repeated with cold water on full blast. (I covered the wig head with a plastic grocery bag first so the fabric wouldn’t get wet) I then removed the rollers and very gently blotted the wig dry with a towel, then allowed it to air dry on a wig hanger. I loved it, it’s so much easier, less time consuming and there’s no risk of accidentally burning my hand with the steamer. Thanks again!

Just AMAZING, the wig looks brand new, and I never knew about those rollers before! I LOOOVE the sleek smooth curls. Both styles look GREAT, but I prefer the waves on you as the curls really frame your face so nicely.

I love your videos! I’m new to wigs. I lost over 60% of my hair after having Covid... I’m on a Facebook group with others who have lost their hair after Covid. I’m on wig number 5 and finally found the perfect color and length ... now I just have to figure out how to make it look like more than just a big hair hat. You videos have given me hope that I can wear a wig 💕😊

I have been restyling my wigs with steam for years. I would form the curl with the barrel of a curling iron (unplugged, of course) and then hit it with steam. This looks so much easier, and with consistent results! I need to order some curl formers!

I've enjoy watching all your videos but this is one of the best. What a great way to revive a synthetic wig! I changed the style of one of my JR wigs by using hot rollers and was so happy with the results. Thanks for the info :)

Yeah it's really helped me extend the life of synthetics when the style starts to look a little Meh. I'll straighten and then restyle them myself and it's like a brand new wig! Let me know how it turns out!
Ok, once again WOW!! I've been adding curls to my wigs for years and never get those results. I just got Miranda by Jon Reneau and I want her to look like yours. I think you should let me send you my Miranda and you can do this for me🤣I'm seriously, I would even pay you. You're absolutely AMAZING❤
The thing is I am 0% hair stylist lol! I can’t even round brush and blow dry 🤣🤣. That’s why I need the curlformers... they do the heavy lifting and I take all the credit 🤣
Think of synthetic wig fibers the same way you do any plastic, nylon, rayon etc. The heat reform the shape of the plastic fabric. Just like a vinyl record left in a hot car. The heat breaks down the structure. The mold you have the wig fibers in, curlers in this case, cool and then re-harden once removed into the curly shape. It's basic elementary science.

You would be surprised- I am not a hair stylist by any means, and, this started as a ruined wig so I don’t have a great track record lol! If you take your time you can totally do this!

I use the CurlFormers Barrel Curlers for pretty much everything because I love the curl width of that curl pattern. I have a Parker too and she was next on my list to recurl!! You would still start halfway down the strand (leave some straight at the top) and pull the hair through, but since Parker is so short you just won't have a curler that is full all the way to the end.
Yikes - I would imagine the heat was too hot, it was perhaps to close to a heat source, or not a steamy.wet enough heat? I am very sorry that happened to you
