The long-awaited answer to the question of what I do with the curling Grand Am dash problem. In this video I will show you my solution and we can get the rest of the build finished up and get it back on the road. I also explain how I can make money rebuilding an old car like this 2004 Pontiac Grand Am GT.

It doesn't matter what type of vehicle you repair. The main thing is that you make money on it so that you can keep making videos for us to watch.

Oh man I bet that the Grand Am sold in a heartbeat! That was a very nice looking car when you got done with it. Somebody got a real nice car and I hope that you made at least 5 grand from it! I love the "haters tears" 🤣. Looking forward to your next video Scott!

The market is cooling off now but 6 months ago a nice running and driving car, ANY car, you could get 5 grand for it easy. My mechanic neighbour had a 2005 impala, black, a little rust 280,000 kms it was his dad's and they were getting rid of it. He said "I don't know what it needs, so I'm going to ask $1000 uncertified" I said WHAT? You're crazy. I bet you could get $2500 to $3000 easy for it" He upped his asking price to $2000 and it was sold in 2 weeks for $1500. Plus it needed a couple of things (not to certify) so the customer paid him to fix them. It had rusty rockers underneath but to certify here as long as it isn't structural, and not visible, it will pass.

I have fond memories of those Grand Am's. I worked counter sales at the largest and best salvage yard in MN at the time. Those cars put food on the table. Front jewelry, bumper covers (especially GT covers), radio (the display had to fully work) and those wheels were money makers. Even the heater knobs were a hot ticket items. Now they have disappeared into the sands of time. Good to see one getting some love today.

I would rather watch YOU rebuild a Grand Am than most any of the other guys "rebuild" a supercar. My 139.000 mile C5 is the closest I am ever going to get to owning a supercar, and I would rather watch something that I could own, or have owned get repaired. So keep the 'Boring Builds' coming ... I've watched ever last one of them.

no kidding! When I was 16 I drove a 1970 dodge dart with a 225 and manual steering and brakes...paid $120.00 for it lol. I didn't care, I was happy to have cheap wheels. Funny story about it: I was on a double date with my buddy (who was also a Mike) and the van halen song came on with the line "we're getting funny in the back of my car" my buddy in the back seat sings out "we're getting funny in the back of mike's car" lol......

to be honest, mudding and drywall is very similar to body work. I've had to do some custom shapes and curves with mud and drywall. One customer wanted a breakfast bar cut between her kitchen and dining room. It was an old house and had parisian plaster texture on the wall. Of course it cracked and split when we cut it. "how are you going to fix that"? I did some tests at home and found attaching a painter's rag on a roller produced a very similar texture. So much so you couldn't tell.
