Ok, I know that this is considered a classic, and it is-but what get's me(besides it being funny), is how hard Curly must have worked to get this scene just right. The three guys were such pros, with a nice history of Vaudeville behind them. :)
This is comedy at its finest! The expressions alone are hilarious! It's a shame they don't make em like this anymore! If you need a laugh, a lift to your spirits, just watch this a few times! These are true gems!
Fresh oyster soup is fresh but yet Curly Howard oyster soup is actually too fresh. I love the part when Curly gave the oyster some pepper. The smart aleck fresh oyster soup actually sneeze and Curly said Gesundheit. He's my favorite character on the 3 Stooges.
I saw this part in 1970 when I was 6 years old as I was flipping through channels, my first look at Three Stooges. I rolled all over the floor laughing thinking, "This stuff is funny I want to see more." I was sold.
he was truly a genius at his craft the greatest comedian who ever walked this earth no one can come close to his humour he was one of a kind a true original my late father and i use to laugh so hard at him and the rest of the stooges we had stomach cramps from the laughter no one except rickles could do this so sad he died way to young its like anyone special that enriches our life for the better they are taken away so young god bless him for the laughter he gave the world a true superstar and genius of comedy
I never stopped laughing every time I watched this. Such a wonderful, and storied comedian like his other fellow Stooges, Curly was pure genius. He was the heart and soul of "The Three Stooges". Simply put: An all time classic that we never get tired of laughing at.😂😂😂😂
He is the father of physical comedy he started it all for the rest of them like Jerry Lewis and Dick van Dyke may he nuk nuk nuk in heaven making everyone laugh !
Abbott and Costello also had this routine with Lou,and of course,Billy Bevan. But Curly throws everything he has into it to make it the best example, period.
I remember watching this scene over and over with my youngest. He would laugh and laugh. ( He once speculated maybe there was a puppy in the soup was eating those croutons ) Thank you Three Stooges. …And thank you for posting.
I saw this version first and I thought Curly came up the Oyster Stew bit. But actually Billy Bevan, the English Comic did the bit in an old Silent Movie. But still this is my favorite.
