Jus got mine sand filled happy with it so far just had to tape around plastic of ball and around spring pole by lock to reduce noise and protect from glove scratching 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽💵✅

As for the bolt you just need to crank the hex key a bit more do not be afraid. That way the spring will not move around at all or cause unnecessary scratches.
