Spitta has the best career ever. Cult following. Didn't have to sell out. All the toys he wants, staple in his community, beautiful family, etccc. He really set the blueprint.
Facts. I'm lucky to have had both in my life, but the stats are there for everybody to see - people growing up with one parent, especially no father are many more times likely to end up incarcerated. Goes for all races, but especially true in the black community. All men out there - think twice about what your sons will end up being without you before you think about leaving them.
Protect this man at all cost! Spitta will always be that guy; laided the blueprint. His music got me through deployments. Will forever be greatful. JETLIFE!!!
Anybody from New Orleans can attest that Curren$y be everywhere, all over town, no entourage, all the time riding around 1 deep, no flexing, on some regular everyday stuff. No ego, very humble brother.
One of the few rappers who can walk around not really too worried about looking over his shoulder. His music wasn’t murder music. It was raw and great flow. Kids take notes
I forget which tape it was but it was whichever joint had the Imaginary Players beat and he said something along the lines of “cuz I know killas, but I ain’t get on record and claim that I did it. I’m happy with my good guy image! I’m cool. I’m chilling…” 😂😂 definitely when he was sending subliminal shots at Wayne around the late 00s/early 2010s
26:48 idk what’s broke to Shawn but if you can’t pay the light bill dawg you rock bottom , it be like that sometimes ofn just gotta rise above from that don’t get comfortable with it
Spitta is the best rapper of our generation, he stays with his morals, he is also super humble and we have the same interests, cars, vintage tv shows ect
i always get into arguments about this but HANDS DOWN the 2 coolest rappers to ever walk this MF earth is SLick Rick & my dude Spitta (Curren$y). ANyone disagree please LMK !
He’s not the best rapper of our generation. And this is coming from a HUGE fan oof his. But he’s definitely a good rapper and 1 of the coolest ever.💯💪🏾
This past August 2023, I took my kids on their 1st N.O vacation, the 1st car my son seen on canal st was currency rolls Royce on gold rims in front his shop. But what really impressed me as a 49yr old man was seeing the next day how it was about 7 or 8 foreign cars in front that same shop and all lil young guys driving those rides. I said man currency CREW look like money, that has to be a great feeling seeing young guys like that balling. Much respect to currency and his crew, and thanks for the jet life apparel we purchased
Damn, spent SOOOOOO much of my teenage years with this mans music! I remember jammin’ in my dad’s green Jeep on the way to school my senior year! About to double back & play nothing but Spitta for a few days because of this! S/O Shawn for this one!
The best part of that segment was him saying he can't change the picture on twitter because he can't take more pictures with lil snupe. I've never heard anyone else talk about snupe in that kind of light.
It was dope to see you throw in the Lebron vs. Jordan question when u noticed him tearing up over Lil Snupe. That's real awareness & trying to keep things positive.
Being from LA and listening to Snupe come up that wuz sad to hear him express that. RIP Snupe and Spitta it’s no words, we all know what’s going on!! 🛩️
THIS WHO I WAS BROUGHT UP ON 🤙🏾✈️ changed my whole outlook on life in 2009. Appreciate you. Never changing my twitter background when you tweeted me. Just like you not changing your pic wit Lil Snupe. You a LEGEND
This man’s music guided me through so many tough times, I met him once on canal st & it was a inspiring seeing how rich yet cool & humble he was… New Orleans is this man kingdom & the real ones will slide behind him at all cost.
I’ve followed Spitta’s career for over 15 years and seen him reminisce and talk about his lost loved ones all the time while keeping it together and paying respect but never seen him get emotional like 45:58, I know he’s been desensitized by the city of New Orleans.. seeing that display of emotion shows how real that love for Snupe was
In my top 5 of all time… not for the accolades or the things the masses think are important but more for his impact and how he’s been able to do him consistently
“One time for the Lifers, two times for the lighters.” The most consistent rapper to ever do this shit ! Nothing else to say but to Just Enjoy This Shit. #JetLife 🤙🏽
Great interview! Super Currensy fan glad to see the homie out talking to the people and getting acknowledged for his greatness! Forever Jetlife till the next life!
So dope to hear about his story and being open about humble beginnings. Beleieve it or not hearing that is more motivating than anything else because he shows you you can do it too with the right grind and mentality
spitta changed the game for niggas back in the day. Really created a wave and gave niggas hella game. Mad luv to spitta 4 laying the ground work n stayin real.
It's good to see this connection! Such a hard worker in Spitta, super consistent with his projects and way of life. I continue to wish him all the best 👏🏾
I can't even lie, I was a huge Spitta fan between 2010- 2015, but he drops so much music that I couldn't keep up. I would get excited when he dropped a project and would listen to it from start to finish, but eventually I couldn't keep up anymore. I'm probably twenty projects behind right now. 😂😂😂
Curren$y one of the illest niggas livin’ rap good smoke good livin life good & how he see fit🫡💯 Been rockin’ with him since I was young & still bumpin’ his music.. #JetLife #SelfMade
Spitta really one of the most consistent artists of all time. In his own lane, makes great music and is never in any BS. Top 5 southern rapper in my book.
I been rocking with this nigga for years dude really inspirational asf and he be having me motivated as hell when I be listening to his music homie only 4 years older than me I bump this nigga everyday keep shining spitta 🤙🏾🛫
Gotta give it to ya Shawn…this was well needed. Spitta got one of the greatest resilience story’s ever told. Thankfully we got ties to da JetLife team. S/O to our patnas Fendi P & Mousa. Guyz came a long way, and we a rather have it like them than anyone else in da game.
I been a Wiz fan since 2007/2008 before he became famous in 2011 wit Roll Up, Black & Yellow, etc. When his mom was in his top 8 MySpace friends list 😂 damn time flies. Wiz never looked broke though. Always rockin fitted hats & snapbacks w fresh fits on. Grew up on Wiz when he was considered a Tyga clone. A1 since day 1. N been fw Currency since HotSpitta sounded like Hospital. Dat Knuck If You Buck Wayne freestyle days. Both have grown as artists. Salute🔥
I’ve met Spitta numerous times around New Orleans and in the store. Bro really just a casual person, who has normal principles and morals. He doesn’t carry himself with an idea that his 💩 doesn’t stink. I always appreciate the moments I’ve gotten to chop it up with him.
Curren$y has been one of my favorite Emcees since highschool going into my college years. He just makes dope music, gets his tour, gets his money, & stays out the way
make as much music as you want King, we'll be appreciating it for years to come when you ready to leave music be, i listen to you more than anything else, and it's never played out
Bro!!!! Wtf!!! Literally had to read the title 3 times! Shawn u been a fly guy but now u got the King Of The Cool on here Spitta been goated in his lane for so long! Glad u dropped this at one time also! One of if not my fav artist of all time! JET LA LA LA LA LIIIIFE ! 🤙
No one even knows this dude was outdoing Wayne at one point , he was like a main stream underground artist everyone heard of him but ppl act like they was the only few that knew about him crazy to see how he’s evolved since I was in grade school he’s been consistent for 14 years now lowkey the only rapper with a longer career then drake and didn’t sell out.
