I really enjoyed this video. I haven't made any of these items yet, but getting my list/patterns together so I can get busy working on some market makes. Great tips and ideas especially with the pricing. I stink at pricing. I was also going to ask where you got your cards made, but you beat me to it. They are super cute and what I am looking for. I am looking forward to your next video.
I just stumbled across your channel. I love these patterns and want to try all of them. The ducks are sooo cute. I wish I knew what you had to say about them. Something happened with my phone and I lost all sound at that point 😢. Anyway, love this content and I will be back! ❤🎉
I have the same issue when I post pics of my Mama Made Minis knotted loveys: my local friends start requesting that I make them some. So I stopped posting pics of them, as well, or I won’t get much else done. I mean, it’s nice to get paid, but I want to make other things, too. Haha
I’m from Kansas, I’ve decided to make some Amigurumi toys, but I’m just getting started. I’ve been sewing all my life, cross stitching, quilting and crocheting. But Amigurumi is definitely different and takes a different yarn than I have right now. So, I’m making some bunnies, Easter is coming and all I have is worsted weight yarns. And when I can I’ll buy plushie yarn. I’ve been selling crochet hand towels at my local farmers market and did okay last summer. Just enough to get the desire to make more on something that will sell. After watching a lot of videos I’m thinking plushies are a good idea. Would you agree? Also where do you find your eyes! Thanks for the videos!
Thank you for watching!! Amigurumi is pretty popular right now. I would suggest if youre going to get into it to find one size/brand of yarn and stick with that especially if it's not going to be the main thing you do. Like maybe Bernat baby blanket and get 6-8 colors and make what you can with just that yarn. Also very important to use the right hook size so you don't get holes and I think the bigger the eyes the better too. I get my plain safety eyes from Amazon and the specialty ones ones come from AliExpress
If you're hoping to make plushies your main item to sell/make and have lots of $$ for yarn, I'd do different weights. Id do a plushie yarn like parfait chunky or sweet snuggles lite and then a size 6 heavier yarn like bernat or premier Basix Chenille then a size 7 jumbo yarn like parfait XL or Sweet Snuggles. It's all about preference and the feel though so don't be afraid to try a skein of everything to find the yarn you love to work with! ❤️
Depends on the yarn. Bernat I use a 6.5 to 7 on plushies. Sweet snuggles Lite I use 5 to 5.5mm hook. A lot of that depends on tension. You just don't want holes in between the stitches but not such a small hook that it's hard to actually crochet and hurts your hands. Hope that helps.
