Thanks for grinding so hard. I'm a homeschool dad and I'm about to start sharing my jiu jitsu and homesteading journey on youtube and I also want to sprinkle in some homeschool content. I have a couple favorite channels in each category that I watch for inspiration and your channel is my go to for homeschool content. It was cool to see you blending your interests here In this video!
Watching this right before my upper body workout. I'm in my early 50s and can attest that being older, its harder to gain muscle but am also learning how important it is to keep muscle as you grow older, metabolically and pretty much every other way. So much disease prospers when you have no muscle strength. Love these videos! Thanks for the info.
I have the same mentality as you. It's hard for me JUST to lift and walk away. I think that I should add on at least 30 mins of cardio but, our hormones at 40 are absolutely different than what they were even at 38-39! It blows my mind. Thank you for sharing ❤
I'm so glad I found your channel! I'm a fellow homeschool momma who also loves Jesus and enjoys physical activity. I'm also getting close to 40, and have been trying to figure out a new routine/focus for my workouts. I've been an avid distance runner since highschool and my knees and shins are really starting to feel it. I'm feeling inspired by you to really seek out some new exercises! Thank you!
LOVED THIS VLOG!! It was honestly so refreshing and motivating to see a “Week of Workouts” vlog done by a busy, homeschooling Mom that’s around my age!! I’m right there with you focusing on strength in this season. Please continue sharing these as you’re led. Love your content and really enjoy watching everything you share!!
I like the idea of getting the toughest workout out of the way. The hardest part for me so far is being consistent, so making a workout schedule is a great idea. And setting realistic goals. Thank you for being a great example that working out is possible and for sharing tips. Hope all is well!
Girllllll! You are spot on! Things change once we hit 40 ( and it won’t be EXACTLY 40, could be 40, could be 44 etc) and we need to change our routine. Great video and chat 😊
Thanks for taking us along on your week of workouts. Yes, I loved seeing your routine. I have a peloton bike that I use regularly but I love some weight training.
Thank you for motivation. I am by no means heavy lifter, but was inspired to do better in my calm yoga routine practices 😊 Your dedication is influential!
Great video! Thank you for the tips and techniques. I've changed my own workouts in the last year to match my workout with my cycle. I've noticed I can push myself the farthest during my second and third week and decrease intensity according to how I feel the rest of the month. Has anyone else noticed this as well?
Thanks for sharing!! I’m new to homeschool my third grade daughter, but I LOVE lifting and I’ve been concerned about how I will schedule our school days cuz my gym only has childcare hours between 8-12 and then 4-9 🙄 I won’t be going in the evening so I’m hoping to be able to maybe go to the gym at 8, finish up and then school? Or maybe school from 8-10 then gym and then finish up school after lunch if we need more time. Lol I will figure it out, but you are the first homeschool mom I have seen share this kind of content! Love it❤
I’m so thankful for this video. I just har the realization before actually watching this video that I need to change my training style. It can be mentally difficult for me to not think about going to full intensity, every single workout, but my body cannot handle high intensity all the time any longer. Thanks for sharing.
I'm on a similar path with lifting and trying to add in more steps(a challenge for me too on school days). I relate on pulling back on intensity for different seasons too. I'm glad to hear you're feeling better! Love your fitness videos; you still inspire me like crazy!🥰
Thank you for this! I have started working out again after not for 4 years! Had two babies in that time and all that comes with that so now I am making time in the morning to workout before we start our school day. I am very sore right now and feel like an old lady 👵🏻
Love this! Happy new journey for you friend ❤❤ can’t wait for an update in May. I love a defined, strong shoulder too. Cardio is not my favorite but that’s usually when I catch up on your videos (like now 😂). Thank you for your consistency and encouragement!!
Omg yes my activity level too. I have such a hard time with steps in the winter- because im sitting down homeschooling and not outside in the bitter cold. 😫
You have inspired me to be consistent with my workout routine since November! I've always been one to workout for a while and then stop working out and then work out a little bit, etc. So my goal has been to work out consistently every week 4-5 days... and I have stayed true to that minus maybe 2 weeks. All that to say, I have really been enjoying working on building strength, endurance, and discipline (something that I have always needed to work on). So, thank you! Also, I was wondering what kind of fitness/smart watch you have? 🤍
This was such a great video. I loved you adding this in the mix. I need to seriously just stop being lazy and get on it. More healthy meal videos please! I get so stuck in a rut on meals especially since all I know how to cook is Mexican food and need I say more about the health in that 😟
Please go into detail about your macros and how you eat like that on a daily. I have been convicted lately about my eating. I am on my 2nd week. In a highly restrictive diet. I know I can’t live this way forever and am interested in macros. I have about 50 pounds I need to loose. Thanks for all your help!
Lol I walk around during read alouds too 🤣🤣🤣 we gotta do what we gotta do. Its so hard to get the steps on homeschool days because we are sitting so much to teach I guess. I'm also in a strength training phase and its so hard to feel like I'm getting enough because there's not the same intensity as when I'm doing peloton workouts- even peloton's "strength" workouts are so intense as far as the heart rate staying in a cardio zone for most of it and tons of reps with lighter weights, I miss it but I don't think my body likes that constant intensity like my brain does...
Love this! I also love high intensity but have had the thought that I need to do less high intensity--it feels like my body doesn't love it as much as the rest of me haha
I really want to weight lift. I'm so out of shape and weak (13 babies in 22 years 😳) What are some really good beginner exercises and for how long should the exercises take? Like 20, 30, 40 minutes of weight lifting? I want to add pilates and walking along with the weight lifting.
Weight training! Is soo hard for me now that I have multiple sclerosis (ms). I've been trying so hard to get back what was stolen from me -in 3 months was bedrest level. I had to learn how to walk properly because of the habits I picked up from being temporary blind (7 Mos total) I was recently told to do as many reps as I could and then thats it. Sounds like the muscle failure you are describing! Any other awesome tips/suggestions? I get wicked overall fatigue along with muscle fatigue so I don't last long Love your vids
My husband and I started using Bellway on your rec an really like it! Do the capsules work the same as the powder? Also, I love the fitness routine vids, thank you! I am wanting to focus on muscle mass more this year too.
Are you eating in maintenance or a surplus at all? Just wondering because I am also looking to build muscle and would love to know your nutrition plan 😊
I needed to hear this! I am so much like you in many ways and looooove intensity. But I’ve been feeling the need to switch up my workout routine. Do you think you can build muscle using only dumbbells? I don’t have access to a barbell but have dumbbells up to 50 lbs
