Dr. Paneez Khoury presented at APFED’s Hypereosinophilic Syndromes (HES) Patient Conference, an externally-led patient focused drug development meeting. Dr. Paneez Khoury works at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Khoury is a research investigator and an expert on eosinophilic disorders. She has been involved for a number of years in the clinical and translational research of these diseases in the Human Eosinophil Section of the NIH. She is also a Board Member of the International Eosinophil Society, and serves on the NIAID Internal Review Board (IRB). Her clinical and research interests are in eosinophilic conditions such as HES, including research related to patient-related symptoms and the patient experience. She is actively working on attempts to develop patient-reported outcome and quality of life instruments for patients with HES. Dr. Khoury discussed current treatment options for HES, as well as their common side effects.
