I honestly haven't done anything else to the car - I get back from vacation next week and the plan is to finish pulling the motor, drop the transmission, replace u-joints, short throw shifter and then have the engine block work done by a local shop - I am going to see if they are familiar with the C4 platform as they have done quite a few Camaro and Firebird LT1s when looking at their FB page. 🤷 I honestly think it is the ECU...so I will replace that when I put it all back together. I will be completely rebuilding the engine (383 perhaps 😲) and will essentially eliminate any possible issues with the engine. Essentially...lol 😂

The wires are Blue Streak 8.5mm - purchased from Advanced Auto or NAPA I think. The wire separators are linked in the video description 👍

I am using a GoPro Hero 10...it might have to do with LED lighting from what I was able to find while doing a little bit of research on this.

Thanks for watching and commenting! As far as anything else with the engine - no, the car is sitting there at the moment - in "project" status 😢 I am going to either LS or Big Block swap it, just need the time and...well...to decide what I want! 😂

The ridge/groove is not really that bad on the engine...

Unfortunately I never found the resolution...I have pulled the engine and am currently swapping to a different platform for the engine (BBC or SBC)

@@Amundred I'm wondering if you can find a vendor to replace your complete wire harness and eliminate those 25 + yr old connectors.

Haha...no...I have kind of put it on the back burner for a bit - been busy with some other projects and I plan on starting back on the Vette soon. Will be doing an engine rebuild (pulled it all apart and need.to take to the machine shop) and will be replacing the ECM. Will be doing exhaust, some kind of ignition system other than the Opti and other little upgrades along the way. I would love to say that I will have it done some time this summer...but I am not sure if I will or not

@@Amundred omg I asked because I have or had the same problem….. I did the stupid simple thing. And it started right up.. cleaned the plugs…. Hope you have the same. Way Too easy!

How's it going? Also, I don't know if you've already mentioned it but I was curious have you done any horsepower mods?

I never did solve the issue. I decided to pull the engine and have it rebuilt (haven't completed that yet) and I am going to replace the ECU when I put everything back together. I will be checking all vacuum lines, wire harnesses, etc while I have the engine bay available to get in and around. The harnesses are pretty brittle and I have already seen some vacuum lines that are dried out and cracked, so I am sure that I had vacuum leak issues on top of everything else.

Unfortunately no real updates yet. Been busy with a lot of things and have not been making time to work on the Vette. I did recently pick up an engine hoist and engine stand so will be pulling the engine and having it rebuilt with headwork and new cam.
