If you liked the pink of the Pilot Iroshizuku Yama-Budo, but didn't like that it leaned to the red spectrum, you should try the Pilot Iroshizuku Tsutsuji. I have been using this ink for a few years now, and I absolutely love it. I generally use it in a TWSBI Eco , and it literally glides across the Tomoe River paper in my Hobonichi books.

I like to match my pen body with my ink to make choosing my pen easier, not wondering what color may be inked inside. I vary when using demonstrator pens.
It’s one of the main reasons I keep an ink journal - so I don’t forget what ink is in what pen. I don’t own enough pens to be able to match ink with pen yet, though!
I'm working on a two-tone drawing using Noodler's Apache Sunset and Noodler's Lightning Blue. Separately, I am trying to get control over two wildly chromoshading inks, Organic Studios Nitrogen and Sailor Manyo Haha.
I just picked up a Monteverde Ritma in black and it's inked up with Diamine Purple Bow! It's a dark purple that looks almost black where the ink pools at the end of my pen strokes. It looks awesome with my Gothic script! I have no logic in how my pens are inked, it depends on the projects I'm working on!
@@KarynaLovesToPlan I have 4! My Lamy studio (stainless, fine), Monteverde Ritma (black, medium), and 2x Lamy Alstar (black 1.5mm). I use the 2 Alstar's for my calligraphy so I can easily switch between colors!
That rose gold! 🤩 For June I think I will dust off my Lamy pens but try them with the Herbin Bleu Pervenche, Noodler's Borealis, and Diamine Night Sky.
Love the video! All inks are gorgeous maybe except the yellow one because I'm not so fond of yellow inks. But I love yellow pens 😁 My favourite recently has been R&K Alt-Goldgrun. I can't stop using it since I got it last month. Wonderful juicy green! I was worried about it being too yellow but it's not yellow at all. Just perfect green!
Have you tried the Colorverse Walk the Dog? I put it in my Kaweco 20s Jazz pen with fine nib and I love it! Writes great on the Hobonichi paper! I have not seen a real Pelikan tortoiseshell like yours but the pictures and videos I’ve seen of them I think it would make a good match! There is shading when I use it on that paper! I received your order a few days ago! I love the stickers that I purchased!
@@KarynaLovesToPlan I’m not an expert as the hobby is new to me, but I do have a Lamy Safari, TWSBI Eco, TWSBI vac, TWSBI Diamond, a Taccia and a Narwhal and I think it writes as well as those. I have it in a fine nib and most of my others are extra fine and I’m not sure if it’s the ink but it writes really wet. I have had 3 different inks in it and it still writes wet. I have the brown and cream pen and it’s beautiful 🤩 I have a Kaweco Sport in fine and it’s much finer than the Jazz and I don’t like the Sport as much as I thought I would because I think it writes scratchy. I thought the Jazz was worth the $53 I paid!
I love these videos too! In particular the recap is super helpful after you’ve spent a month using them. I’m only a little over a month into this hobby so my inking strategy is still evolving. Currently I think of my pens as “headers” and “small text”. For the small text ones I like to have one cool neutral and one warm neutral and leave those all month long. For June I’ll switch my Kakuno EF from Colorverse CMa to a red brown Kobe ink I don’t remember the name of. And my Prefounte F from Robert zoster Caffe Crema to Herbin Gris Nuage. I find my header pens harder to stay with for one whole month. My Magnum Medium I had Sailor Nadeshiko and then Ukikusa in for May and both were wonderful. I don’t know what I plan to start June with yet. My flex pens I change even more regularly but I might stay with something longer if the novelty wears off. But they go through ink like crazy.
Thanks Katie! I am tempted to get a Lamy stub nib to try out in my Al-Star and use it for headers or practice. Herbin Gris Nuage sounds interesting - I love how complex a colour like grey can be!
Hahaha, would you believe I just finished trying out the Fuyu-syogun in my Pilot Vanishing Point?! I was literally journaling about the difference between that grey and the Diamine Graphite I decided to try after it as you mentioned it! I really like the cool grey tone, and I find it is *just* dark enough to be legible in an EF. I am debating getting a full bottle, but do I really need *another* bottle of ink? 😅
