I totally agree bro that ep is absolutely great! Love it, especially forever marked and feel the same, these 2 are one of my fav currents songs too! But imo their best album/Ep/record whatever overall, is "The Way it Ends", bloody hell that's a good f*cking album! The whole thing just blew me away the first time I listened to it, til this day I still love it and come back to that album

Saw them perform a headlining set last month after Bad Omens had to cancel. They were amazing!

I agree, i like the previous single more, but even that didn't hit me nearly as much as any song off of The Way It Ends. I feel like it lacks the super catchy choruses, ambience and bouncy and techy lead work.

Currents always have a couple mindless heavy af songs on their records, on The Way It Ends it was Poverty of Self. Here is the new one from the new record

I personally have zero issues for this song because my thing is, they make something like they usually do then you have ppl saying it’s boring they are not switching it up.

@@trampledunderfootvid Yeah but poverty of self wasn't JUST heavy, it had some really good and bouncy grooves and a way more dynamic structure. This new one is a lot more repetitive and follows the same tempo and groove pretty much the whole song.

As a single it could feel out of place but I’m sure it will make sense in their next album. Just like in “The Way it Ends”, poverty of self was that heavy quick thrasher that felt off as a single but in the structure of the album, it was perfect.

Nah it feels so good to hear something without the forced cleans in it, very enjoyable

@@lars9764 yea same here. I’m not really sure why all these djentcore bands force in cleans where they’re not needed. It’s not like metalcore always had those super clean choruses. Old Converge and Norma Jean were just unrelenting heaviness. It also just seems lazy since some of these bands don’t seem to know how to write something catchy without souring clean vocals. And I don’t hate cleans. A lot of the choruses just seem like bands following a formula even when it doesn’t fit the song

@@phaaaze9984 Yea same, i love well used cleans like in The Plot in You or also Currents but a lot of bands nowadays do clean choruses just for the sake of having a clean chorus and not because it suits the song well imo
