I respect Nick's objectivity on Curry. Yes he did struggle some in 15 and 16 finals but he was younger, smaller, and learning how to attack defenses that focused on taking him out of the game. I give him massive credit to overcome that and learn to still be efficient and highly productive against elite defenses that play more physical in the finals and I think what you saw this year was a result of his hard work.

@@RipleyandSwoo I agree that he’s learned a lot from ‘15 and ‘16, but I don’t get the notion that he struggled in ‘15. He had a bad game 2, as noted by Cartel Jameson a few replies earlier-and I’ll even give you the first half of game 3. Overall though, he had a pretty stellar Finals debut series, and he should’ve won FMVP. His game 5 performance that year, with the series tied 2-2, remains one of his best. He had clutch moments there, and in the fourth quarter and overtime of game 1. This year’s Finals performance was absolutely his best, but, in totality, Steph is actually one of the greatest Finals performers ever. 2016 is just one of those series like 2011 for Lebron-a stain that never truly washes out.

The funny thing is that everybody wants to give point to Steph for changing the NBA, but if you look closers, there are more guys playing as similar as they can to Doctor J than to Steph Curry. Every winning team in the last decade had a very versatile, athletic forward that can score, pass, rebound and defend on different positions as either n1 or n2 guy on the team except the '15 Warriors (despite having Iguodala FMVP lol). And the historic path for that kind of player is Baylor - > Doctor J - > LeBron James.

@@Derpfriar 1. Cultural impact/Transcendence Steph has done FAR more for the game of basketball than Magic ever has….. the speed, the defenses, the 3 point barrages as well as Steph holding the title of GREATEST shooter of all time 2. Popularity Steph is one of the faces of the league and has reached further than Magic ever has….. this is worldwide impact from adults to children, shoe brand (carried Under Armor to unprecedented new heights) Everyone who isn’t even a basketball fan has seen Steph and his family so he’s become polarizing and more then Magic ever was. 3. Comparison There is NO player that has a similar game to Steph that is better than him ZERO ZILCH NADA. Players can literally NOT imitate the things Steph can do on the court. While Magic is really just a lot worse version of LeBron and Bron at 37 is still FAR better than Magic ever was in terms of skill. I’m assuming Bron is in EVERY basketball fans top 3 bare minimum so how can Magic be so close? Bron is as good a passer as Magic if not better which I believe he is but a FAR more versatile offensive repertoire and a FAR more gifted athlete. Again there is no such player that can say they can do what Steph does on the court but better but for Magic there is 4. Caliber of teammates Yes Steph won two rings with KD but he’s now one two without him. For Magic as soon as Kareem declined his run was all but over….. he’s never won without having the most dominant player besides him as well as Big shot James. Curry has won without KD not to take away from Klay and Dray but they aren’t KAREEM who is easily a top 5 player of all time at ANY level be it HS, college, the NBA. Curry has won with small teams against the history of the league saying you need a dominant wing or dominant big. I don’t see how you can look at what Steph has accomplished and say he isn’t better than Magic….. put Magic on LeBrons teams and they are SIGNIFICANTLY worse. Curry for the majority of his runs has been beating for some the greatest player of all time and for all undoubtedly a top 3 greatest player of all time and MUCH BETTER PLAYER than Magic Johnson!

@@jamesonedwardsii4943 dude curry's my favorite player but we are talking about best players of all time not popularity. #2 shouldn't even be there. If it was popularity kobe would be top 3. I could see impact on the game there though but it shouldn't affect him too much. And for magic being the worse version of lebron he is obviously not as great of a player but his legacy stands as one of the best of all time. Yes no small player is even close to the level of curry, but no small player is even close to the top 10. For #4, even though I agree magic was hella lucky to play with Kareem, Curry still lucked out with the best team of all time. Also even if curry individually is a better player than magic the top 10 seems to be more of a comparision of both legacies and individual game, which magic edges out curry in.

The Dr J Bird ECF head to head analysis is pretty misleading. Here are the stats: 1980 ECF - Nick says Dr J outplayed Bird...well, let's take a look at the stats. Dr J: 25.0 pts, 8.4 trb, 4.2 ast, 2.6 stl, 1.4 blk, 50.5 fg%, 100 3p% (on 1 three) Bird: 22.2 pts, 13.8 trb, 3.6 ast, 2.4stl, 1.4 blk, 44 fg%, 37.5 3p% (on 8 threes) This looks pretty even to me, definitely wouldn't say Dr J clearly outplayed a rookie Bird but I'll give Nick this one. 1981 ECF - Nick doesn't mention the head to head with Bird...I wonder why... Dr J: 19.9 pts, 5.9 trb, 4.1 ast, 1.3 stl, 2.4 blk, 43.3 fg%, (didn't take a three) Bird: 26.7 pts, 13.4 trb, 4.6 ast, 1.9 stl, 1.4 blk, 48.6 fg%, 33.3 3p% (on 3 threes) This is an absolute beatdown from Bird (not mentioned by Nick). Especially impressive considering this was in Dr J's MVP season (Bird finished second in the voting). 1982 ECF - Nick says he "believes" Dr J outplayed Bird... Dr J: 19.0 pts, 6.7 trb, 3.7 ast, 1.6 stl, 2.6 blk, 45.3 fg%, 50 3p%(on 2 threes) Bird: 18.3 pts, 14.1 trb, 7.3 ast, 1.9 stl, 1.1 blk, 41.2 fg%, 20 3p% (on 5 threes) Pretty underwhelming scoring series from both. Bird's vastly superior rebounding and playmaking (Dr J had one more turnover than Bird) quite clearly gives Bird the edge here. Not sure how Nick can justify giving this to Dr J. So my count is Bird 2-1 Dr J, with the 81 series being an all time beatdown against a reigning MVP. We're practically talking Hakeem vs Robinson 95 levels. The lack of objectivity from Nick here makes me question the accuracy of his analysis of the other players on this list too.

@@kingad8869 i don’t think seriously underrating cause whatever spot Steph falls in, i believe Timmy is the spot behind. But I understand why you would think he’s over Steph. I think they’re pretty interchangeable based on preference. But yeah one more year like this and i think Steph takes the clear lead

I’ve always said I think Moses Malone doesn’t get his credit because despite how great he is he is at Best the 6th Best all time at his position you’re taking Hakeem Shaq Russell Wilt and Kareem over him and I think because of that it’s hard to give him his proper credit amongst everyone else. it feels weird to say the sixth best center all time is better than the second best point guard of all time

But center along with small forward are the most loaded positions, historically.

@@aaronjackson9385 I agree it’s just usually with the how the other positions work we really don’t look much past top three right like we think about it as if we are making the all time all NBA teams and once you are not top three all the time at your position it’s hard for you to be viewed the same and given a certain level of credit. with the center position we are willing to go five deep but that still isn’t enough to include Moses in most cases

@@michaellipscomb3832 very well said. I agreed. Its kind of like how great RBs i. The NFL get lost in thr shuffle because they are so many of them. No one really acknowledges Chuck Foreman, William Andrews, Wilbur Montgomery etc....

Abdul Jabbar or Hakeem could do nothing with Moses. Hakeem closed out Shaq 4-0.
