Naofumi got the cursed series in episode 4 after Myne shot him in the back, but Raphtalia calmed him down before that went anywhere. The rage shield's effect is called self burning curse. I'm afraid that's what hurt Raphtalia. All Gaelion, I mean the zombie dragon did was spread poison and disease. That would be a lot easier to deal with. Filo is lucky Gaelion didn't have any teeth. Ren and his parted looted them. Seconds of the body were missing. You can unlock more weapons and something else if you cut the monster into certain pieces first. Also some monsters are just too big to be adsorbed into it, so you have to break them down first.

It was the curse shield 🛡 that did it. What happens is that whenever Naofumi uses the shield at a level of strength that he’s not mentally ready for he loses control and hurts his team members on accident. It’s like how in a video game your character has an OP power, but it has a permanent drawback whenever you use it

Love how Naofumi just adopts every loli he finds

The burns raphtalia got came from shield, it’s cursed fire and can’t be healed by normal means.

The flames from the shield are a curse, representing his growing malice and hate. If you saw when the dragon swiped, the flames grew stronger responding to Naofumi’s fury towards the dragon in that moment. Scary thing is now he’s curious about the power it had, despite it burning Raphtalia so bad. That’s how fucked up his mental state even now honestly is even with two precious people in his corner, and being the reason one got hurt. “I’m not warm yknow”, couldn’t be a more twisted thing to say given the fire he unleashed in this episode. Like the only thing that burns hot in him is only his anger.

This episode was awesome, I love the rage shield power up , sucks that it hurt raphtalia but Naofumi looked badass in that form.

Damn it. It doesn't matter how many times i've seen it or how long it's been, When I see the curse shield come into being, I always get chills and feel rage and excitement. So fukn HYPE!!! Even more so for those of us who have read the novels and have a little more info that adds to the impact.
