Heros tend to have a sacrifice mentality , and well you kinda need to have if you gonna have that kinda job , but to be the n.1 you need to give all you got , your body your mind , your relationships , most heroes are never truly happy

Scary thing is that all might have izuku a false hope of saving everyone as a perfect hero. In reality he threw him to the stained by pride, fame, fear and distrust world that forses him to always make a sacrifice. Izuku never wanted to hurt anyone so he sacrificed himself over and over again and at the and only prize he got was more pressure. Good example of it is in season 2. Izuku instead of hurting opponents he used his quirk in a way that only hurt him. After festival there wasn't any hero that wanted him as a student. Izuku was strong, smart, creative and had a good heart. Sadly no-one cared enough to teach him how to control his power for a greater good.

It would be great to see All Might come to the realization that he hasn't been setting as good an example as he thought. That despite his heroic and optimistic nature, he really is just a man blinded by hope. From there he can work on improving himself as a mentor and right the wrongs his legacy left behind.

I was actually thinking about this. All might has the power of one for all and all for one has the power of all for one, doesn't the thing go "all for one and one for all"? Dosnt that mean that the sides will eventually come together, or at least should? After all heros are too self sacrificing and villans are to selfish shouldnt there be a middle line in it all? Sorry for the ramble and grammar errors.

That is the curse of heroism Bakugo, people putting their lives on the line for others without asking for reward and recognition. The chance that everyone could hate you despite doing the right thing. The possibility that you could die at any moment to save a stranger. Something like this should not be put on the shoulders of children but it happens anyway. People always want to be the heroes, but sometimes they never understand the weight of responsibility that comes with the job. Midoriya understood that risk and chose to pursue it anyways. All Might may have picked Midoriya be his successor, but it was Izuku's choice to take up the torch and battle the endless storm.

I’m pretty sure every person who passed down this power felt the same way. They would’ve be taking the burden from their own shoulders and putting it on someone else’s believing the next person would be able to carry it. But by doing so instead of saving a life, they’re sacrificing one. For a hero to do something like that, has got to be the most gut wrenching thing for anyone in that career to do.
@lemonzest6988

When you're a hero, the greater good doesn't involve you. It involves the people you protect. And that means you aren't going to come through danger undamaged. It's the price you pay, that every hero pays. Midoriya knew that. He chose to be a hero anyway.

This comic is great, but Bakugou saying he has done less damage than All Might rubs me the wrong way, to be honest. The thing isn't that All Might fucked up beyond belief or something, but that he is an adult, while Bakugou is and has been a kid this whole time. No, scratch that, All Might isn't just an adult; he was a symbol that couldn't live up to its own expectations and fed kids an idea of self-sacrifice that is simply unreachable, specially with Deku, with him being his sucessor and all. However, that mistake wasn't out of malice or cruelty, but rather an attempt to right the wrongs in that world. All Might tried his best to be a saviour for as many people as possible and wanted his sucessor to do the same. That is an insane amount of responsibility to put into anyone's shoulders, let alone a vulnerable 14/15 year-old; yes, that is correct. Bakugou is right on how much of a curse that is. But, he is talking with some kind of moral high-ground that makes his own mistakes seem less important by comparison, and I deeply dislike that. They both fucked up in their own ways: one with good but unrealistic expectations, the other with misguided and perhaps not mean-spirited, but definitely bad-at-last actions. They both fucked up. Comparing their issues distracts us from the initial problem and doesn't let us grow. So, how about we call it even and just say they both could do better, as the two of them have certain excuses for their behaviours and plenty of time to improve their ways? :) ... anyways, nice voice-acting :D

What upsets me most is that even though bakugo probably knows all this in Canon, he and Izuku are NOT friends. They haven't been in over a decade, and even with an apology and Izukus forgiveness.... Bakugo has a very long Rugged road to be a real friend without any abuse involved. The relationship between them is still toxic and Izu is too kind to admit he is angry even to himself.

Bakugo is acting like All Might forced it upon Deku he gave Deku the choice to accept his Quirk and made him earn it, told him that it wasn't going to be easy and he'd go through more pain than anything Deku chose to be his successor and would happily make that choice again countless times
@clemente3966
@clemente3966 2 года назад
Well, Midoriya might have still been in an highly emotional state after all that day, so that's one thing, not forcing it, but asking when Midoriya's not the most competent to make that choice on the fly. Then there's the pressure of the #1 hero position. And not exactly forcing to accept it, but All Might first says no to Midoriya's question, then the second te he says yes and immediately offers OfA, and that could be taken so badly, because it could have meant that AM only offers OfA as like "You can be a hero, but only with a Quirk. Fortunately, you've proven to me that you're worthy of OfA so if you want to be a hero, take it." And that would be unintentionally forcing on the hero dream front. Unintentionally, but still forcing. So I'd say it was half forced on him still

I agree to an extent, except for one thing Deku had no idea what he was really signing up for He didnt know he was signing up to break his bones and have chronic pain for the rest of his life He didnt know he was signing up for a war against a 200 year old supervillain that only he can stop, that is so much pressure for a 14 year old kid. And no one gave him the tools to really help with all this. Also if you think of it from deku’s perspective, he basically got $uicid3 bated, had his dreams crushed by his hero, left on a roof, had to save bakugou and get yelled at for it and he learned two national secrets. Im not saying canon All might would do anything malicious..maybe.. but quirkless kids were looked down upon so strongly in that society and his life really sucked, it would be really easy for someone to make him go “missing” or stage something if he did say no. Idk maybe it wouldnt happen like that but still, for someone who isnt at the age of consent or old enough to drive a car, get a tattoo, etc. it was a big decision

Yes because in the artist's comics, it seems (never intentionally looked for them and only saw comic dubs of them) that they always have been friends, even when they were kids (older than 4yo I mean, I remember a comic dub video with a situation like that) and that Bakugo's in general more calm and all. He even willingly participated in some kind of contest about how to improve a hero's formation at an agency or something like that, and he obviously went with Quirkless fighting, that's to say he's more calm.

So the true reason why Bakugou didn't want Izuku to become a hero was not because he was born qurkless, but maybe he wanted Izuku to have a house somewhere, have a wife and kids and grow old. Maybe this is the true reason why. Maybe he wanted to have this happy, peaceful future for Izuku, and maybe if he did that, he would promise that he would have made sure a villain never got near him or his family. I guess despite his bullying and all the bad things Bakugou did to Izuku, he doesn't truly have the slightest amount of hatred for him. In fact, he loves him as much as ever.

I've been aware of this for a while. Because the greatest heros aren't part of 'the greater good' and they know it. They go out and know that someday they won't come back. I imagine being a mentor to a future hero is a special form of torture. Because you have to not only watch someone you care about walk into a life that's going to chew him up and spit him out, no matter what, you have to help him get deeper and deeper in. You are throwing them to the wolves like a sacrifice. But you remember: they would do thus anyway. They can't NOT help people. It's ingrained into them. They'd throw themselves into danger regardless, but without help it would get them killed. If they interfere, they can at least help them make it to retirement. This isn't just about Midoriya. This is every single hero. Yet they choose to anyway.

the art and VA is very good but I couldn't disagree more with this. Izuku worked so hard before receiving one for all (training, clearing that beach) and has been working hard this whole time to make it his own. All Might hasn't been the greatest teacher but he's always been an open ear, and was quite literally Midoriya's greatest supporter when even his own mother had given up on Midoriya's dreams. No one believed in him until All Might saw in Izuku something that would make him the greatest hero. The WORST thing he ever did was tell him he couldn't. Bakugo has been an obstacle from day one and the saddest thing to me is that not only has Midoriya been gas-lit into thinking this is just a 'rivalry' and not a teenager physically and mentally abusing another but so has the fanbase. Both those kids should have been split up and thrown head first into therapy. Though, of course we wouldn't have a story.

@clemente3966
@clemente3966 2 года назад
Good point, but like you kinda said, there are other ways to look at it: - AM kinda at least half forced the Quirk on Midoriya, even if unintentionally. -AM was formerly quirkless, but he didn't (as far as we know) do anything to make the situation for quirkless people better. He became a symbol and uses a strong Quirk during duty so he's also participating in giving society the wrong idea of the strength of a Quirk being what's determining a person's status. So yeah, I get that it can be seen as a good thing, but anyone can also see it as a bad thing.

just a thought that came to me after this video uh what about Bakugou as a teacher/mentor? because like Deku, he's idolized All Might for a lot of his life. unlike Deku, he is no underdog and he knows himself and his limits well. he still strives to become the greatest hero, become the number 1 hero and surpass All Might. but what if it was to surpass him in not just hero work --- he's seen how All Might's ways of teaching Izuku have been and how it ultimately led to almost as much destruction as it led to good. Idk. I feel like Bakugou would learn from this and it would scar/stick in his mind enough that if he ever did end up becoming a mentor figure for someone/some people in the future, he would do it differently.

That would be so cool. Not only would he be looked upon as a role model and someone knowledgeable, if he wants to become a teacher, he must learn to enjoy people's improvements. Dekus been through hell, but imagine him in a regular or poor high school, quirkless, beat up more and more. Containing his spirit in an average job, because no one would have him. The way he is structured is he thrives in a crisis. He was going to run in and get himself hurt eventually. Like he did with the sludge monster. Now he has a fighting chance. Bakugo has no right to spit on his ability a accomplishments. Deku is doing the same job with the same risks Bakugo is doing also. Deku is not lesser. Also, MANGA SPOILERS Imagine Deku, with his predisposition to help, in that war torn hell scape. He wouldn't be tired and beat up from fighting. He would be dead.

I don’t believe that Bakugou was spitting on his accomplishments per say, but fearful of the toll his power has on has on his body. As we know from canon, Midoriyas body rejected the quirk he was given, hence why he breaks his bones using the quirk. Bakugou is worried that the hope of the quirk will get Deku killed. Also in the war torn hell scape, he wasn’t tired or just beat up he was put into a coma. Had it not been for Bakugou taking the blow of AFO’s power, Midoriya would have died regardless.

If you pick apart the individual pieces of anyone's motivation there is always evil and selfishness. But I think evil and selfishness for the greater good is something both All Might and Midoriya have in common and they know it. All Might picked a successor who was just like him and I don't think that was a mistake. All Might really did define what a hero should be. He created an impressive if imperfect level of peace. To want that to continue is ultimately good in my opinion. That's the kind of person you need in a messed up world like theirs. Do you think Deku would have been any better off in the war torn future of their world if he didn't have any power to stop it? His life was ruined either way. Weakness made him miserable. At least with power he can justify the trauma. Also he would have died trying to save someone either way. He already tried that with Bakugo when the mud guy attacked. Honestly that quirk is damn near for his own safety. This isn't a perfect idea of course. But think of these characters like real people. Everybody sees it differently. And everyone focuses on different aspects of their situations. To one its horrible to put naïve kids through this, to another its better that they are prepared for the world they already live in, if that makes sense.

For me while is a good point about how deku doesn't care about himself i feel like in his case there was not a lot else he could do, for example, if he didn't break his bones at the beginning of the series in the entrance exam ochako would have died (or at least be severly harm by the 0 points robot) if he did not break his bones in the usj incident Mineta and Tsuyu could have ended uo being Hurt, and all might could haved died, if he didn't do it in the sports festival then Shoto would still have the same mentality of rejecting part of himself, if he didn't do it in the camp, then he and Kota would have died by muscular, and well i think we all get the point, but the problem with the argument of "he harms himself in the process" is that he doesn't seem to consider other ways of saving people or beating a villian and then discarte it because he think it might not work, i good example of a character who keeps putting his life in danger to save other is Shirou Emiya of Fate/Stay Night

Absolutely and i am so sick and tired for people slandering All Might while at the same time praising Bakugo when Bakugo is literally the reason Izuku is so desperate to prove himself

*Ahem* Bakugo bullied Midoriya for 10 years sure. But with his mentality, Midoriya luckily never got trauma or anything psychological you could think of. Their situation All Might gave Midoriya his view of heroism, a really self-destructive one. Sure, a hero must be willing to put others before themselves, but there's a line not to cross and they could not help anyone anymore, and Midoriya is often too close to that line because of All Might. You can't continue being a hero if you're dead. Sure All Might gave him hope, but sometimes, this time too, it's blinding hope. Light and hope can do as many harm as darkness and despair can, because one can't be present without the other in the same amount. Like, sure it's nice and all, but it feels like Midoriya completely forgot about the situation of Quirkless people and only is reminded of that when he comes across one of them, or like he doesn't do anything to try to make it better, like introducing his classmates to that situation and/or taking action, like helping or creating a foundation that helps Quirkless people, especially the youngest ones. And Midoriya being so desperate to prove himself? AM fanboyism mostly, and AM (maybe unintentionally but still) kinda pressuring Midoriya to become #1 when having OfA isn't equal to that, just look at the former OfA olders, the ones who could have gone the ranking way didn't, they weren't that known. Like, for example, when AM told Izuku to show at the sports festival that "he's here", couldn't it have waited the second or third year that he got control of the Quirk?

@@rayadawn3535 AM gave deku the WORST hope possible. He made deku believe he had to destroy his body to help others. That is the worst kind of hope you could give a vulnerable child.
