Sketches is essentially a "Do I want to use my champion or not?" artefact, aside from Dark Calling Rector (who works best with it, especially early game, imo). For Exile Wurmkin? It's a snap click, because Echowright is kinda ass, and can be played on any floor. But Spine Chief? Two of his three paths essentially require being on-floor with the (probably Keeper or Shardsoul infused) carry unit/s, and his third path (Reap Chief) is especially weak with Wurmkin units (the ones you want to use Sketches for) on another floor, since you'll be needing to juggle what floor you play your Infused cards. Now, if you can get an Ascend/Descend, it's alright, but that's not always a given, and you'd want that card with Intrisic, as well. If you already have an Ascend/Descend in the deck? Then Sketches is workable. But at the *beginning* of the run? High rolls for the run are especially high, but most rolls are low, or outright terrible. We see this here with this run. You didn't get Decayer (who would have still been bad, because you want Echoes for your carry units, but better than the other paths), and you didn't get an Ascend/Descend. Two bad rolls (that aren't rare at all), and Sketches goes from pretty dang good, to utterly terrible. *Two* rolls. Sketches is just a genuinely terrible artifact, and I'll basically never take it unless I'm using Dark Calling Rector or Echowright (and sometimes Shardtail Queen and Wyldenton). All the other Champions are just genuinely better, or the clan isn't especially predisposed to Sketches (i.e. Awoken), and getting high rolls with Sketches is especially difficult. That's all ignoring how Sketches just randomly sets your floor up, so you can't have a build based around having a tank unit unless you get something like Vine Grasp.
55:59 That person drafted cards from ring 1 and then sold EVERYTHING else. Wow. It turns out this seed was actually blessed instead, just don't take sketches. I guess you don't need to overthink it if you have a winning line already.
Hi, I just beat your score with a completely different solution. I used Thorned Hollow with an Edge Prior infusion. What a wonderful synergy because I had two 0 cost, holdover Bramble Lash. I beat Divinity because I got a very lucky draw with Sketches of Salvation. Root on the first floor and two 1500 damage Bramble Lash in the middle.
Nicely done! On runs like these I don't normally try to push for score and instead prioritize winning, but I'm glad to know that the Thorned Hollow line gets there! I think I commented on it myself when I saw the Edge Prior.
I feel sketches tends to be either really good or very problematic with not much between. You just need to figure out which it'll be before actually clicking on it.
Unfortunately, they do expire on the server after a period of inactivity. I'd be surprised if any of the ones I've recorded are still available to be played, sadly.
