I purchased a 2011 DTS with the Platinum trim new (black on black). I was one of the first Cadillac owners in Houston, TX, to have a Platinum trim model for the 2011 year. Prior to owning this car, I never kept a car more than 2-3 years (tops). I still have this car today and I can't let it go. I keep it in pristine condition, and with only 37k miles on it, there's no reason to not keep it. I have a SUV so the Caddy is not my primary vehicle hence the low miles -- but I drive it every day. I debated on buying the DTS model for some time but when Cadillac announced the end of the DTS (and, subsequently, the Northstar platform) I decided to make the move; I'm so glad I did. I'm very proud of this car and I constantly get offers from complete strangers to buy it.
Yes I love the blue quarter top, the Biarritz package and the gold emblems. But I already have a BEAUTIFUL CADDY. So I’m happy with the one I have. This will give someone else the chance to own a BEAUTIFUL CADDY. Papa 🐻
Oh wow, we've been looking for a good DTS for a while. We let one slip, for around 3,500, that was in pretty good condition, although it had 175k miles. It was owned by an elder couple and they kept it up but someone bought it before us. So, although more money, this one is tempting.
love my dts. bought with 16k miles and put almost 40k on her. love her so much these past 2 years have been the best, i also own a 95 seville sts family car and she needs work all the time
We’re going to trade in our 09 DTS Premium (Black Raven w/Ebony Leather interior) sometime this summer. We hope to find a Continental Reserve to finance. We are really going to miss the DTS because it’s been so dependable even with high miles (although those are V8 miles) but we feel like we look so outdated. We hunted down our DTS on purpose a few years ago and it was hard to find, and we really got ripped off but it was the only one around. I hope we find a Continental or at least a very nice MKZ 2017+. Wish us luck.
What a Stunning Caddy Anthony, Love it. Color Combo is Absolutely Beautiful and yes the NorthStar's were figured out by this last year. Great price on this I think also. Hey Papa, hope you doing good Sir...?
Did you find the best cars ..... Love your channel 🙋🏆👏....... I didn't even know Cadillac kept Biarritz package going after they discontinued the El Dorado..... She is a beauty ❤...... And in pristine condition looks like it did when it rolled off the assembly line 👏👏👏👏👏👏 I don't know how you would be able to let this one go..... I don't think I could do it 😅..... Keep the great cars coming❤
"Biarritz Edition" aftermarket special... Love it except redundant cheezy logos on headrests! You missed a rainy Cadillac Day Anthony. Left after 2 hours. I'm a fan, still driving my 2010 DTS Base with 195k miles. These are great cars! The price is reasonable. Good luck! Hi to Papa Bear!
*The blue and silver on the exterior is BEAUTIFUL* !! *Gorgeous Cadillac* !! *LOVE this DTS Biarritz* !! *Fabulous job Papa Bear and Anthony* !! #SpecialtyMotorCars
I still use an early 2006 DTS Performance (L37 Northstar) as one of my daily beaters. Had to pull the motor on two separate occasions ( upgraded head stud & extensive oil leak reseal)... The guy up in Ontario who owns the a patented fix for the Northstar head gasket issue sells upgraded motor mounts and also has made a very nice subtle ECM and TCM tune for these cars. It gives it a nice little power and MPG boost and improves torque management and shift mapping of that very robust but dated 4 speed 4T80-E.
Dang I miss the ride of my DTS. Always felt it should have had the supercharged Northstar from the XLR-V to have been the full meal deal. Really enjoy both my Platinum XTS and XTS V though. Upgraded the Cue systems in each and have rebuilt both screens. Working great now.
Beautiful DTS! I need a DTS to replace my 2008 Lucerne CXS Northstar (89,000 miles) which has a bad transmission due to previous owners lack of maintenance 😢. Currently driving a 2015 Subaru Forester 😢. I loved my Northstar runs smooth lots of power, and torque, ice cold AC and 28 MPG on the highway.
What a stunning car! And I agree with you about the northstar. And show me any vehicle that doesn't require upkeep and work to keep them going. It's like my 1986 Seville with the 4100. Everyone complains about them, but this car is smooth, quiet and had enough power to get my Sunday drives in.
I've a few cadillacs mkz Hyundais these cadillacs looks nice a thought I used to lovem after seeing these old school lincolns I don't hear about the reliability on caddys
I agree with you on the color choice. the one I had was a dark gray Gunsmoke or something like that. They put a lot lighter gray color on the top. It looked great for about 40 seconds after a car wash.Part of the fall of large family Cadillac .
Hey Anthony, I picked up a 94 DeVille with 20K miles one owner. Had the original 93 date coded tires still on it when I picked it up. I replaced them for the 2,200 mile drive home, but I saved them if someone wants them with the car. I'll send you a picture.
If only......dark blue leather interior....but it still looks very sharp with the black leather. I'm almost wanting to call you and trade my '05 LTC on this DTS. But it's numbers for me as well. I'd have to get $12995 for mine to let it go. I'm sure it'll be sold before I could decide to call you anyway. Very nice and I almost thought it was going to be Papa Bear's DTS at first glance! Didn't know you had this one in hiding!
Yeah, Lincoln or their customers, I'm not sure which, didn't opt for the gadgets. But I think it was a mistake not to include navigation and HID headlamps and a moonroof as standard on the Signature Limited.
I think the reason Town Cars didn't get the tech is because the platform dated back to 1979, didn't seem like Ford wanted to put money into a car that was still selling well. Who knows
Excuse me, I bought a car of the same style in Toronto, which is beige in color and produced in 2007. Can I ask if this car can be remotely started through the car key?
Anthony you do excellent videos and excellent car sales. I was glad to see the Oldsmobile recently on your channel. I have seen a Oldsmobile Toronado a while back and a Oldsmobile Ninety Eight too. You have had some excellent Mercury Grand Marquis as well. How do you feel about Cadillac XTS and Cadillac CT6 which is still sold by GM/Cadillac in China. The CT6 is rear drive as you know. After the DTS was XTS and CT6. I understand how you are always fighting the HT 4100 and Northstar engine issues. You said they worked all the issues out by 2011. What about the Pontiac Bonneville GXP that used the Northstar V8 and Buick Lucerne Super that used it as well?
It is amazing that Caddy doesn’t make large sedans any longer and instead makes two tiny sporty sedans. This from the company that makes Escalade and is their bread and butter. Caddy should only make large SUVs and sedans.
I must have lucked out. My 2011 DTS (purchased new) has not had one problem with an oil leak (knock wood). I was warned about the oil leak back when I was considering the DTS but GMC claimed at the time the problem had been corrected in the later DTS models, so I took a chance. Glad I did; I love this car.
Somewhat. The most common is the head gasket but was addressed in 2005, some mechanics said they still seen some failures through 2006. But 2007 and your golden. Biggest problem will be finding an honest mechanic who knows how to work on them and not take you for a ride
There is no they. It’s just me. My apologies Ken, I’m not sure when you called. But that Eldorado was sold 6 months ago when I posted it last year. Sorry for the miscommunication
