Martin Morales-Rios no I wouldn’t recommend that because water change the chemical structure of the paint... aka take away its strength

@@DeJesusCustomFootwear I just got all the stuff in, when you start painting over the light grey with the white paint, do i need to mix that with 2-soft as well? And should i use the heatgun to dry between coats or should i just let the coats dry on their own? Thanks again

Dubs hey bud so to answer those, I would say it kind of depends on time and patience lol. In the most ideal situation you’re heat setting between coats because the heat helps keep the material soft, but you’re then still allowing at least 15 mins of dry time between coats (aka heat setting every few minutes) for the 2-soft I recommend you start applying less and less 2 soft to your mixture as you move along, otherwise it’ll take way too many coats and too long since it really thins out the paint. So let’s say you have to do something like 4 white coats... first coat is 50% 2soft 50% white paint, 2nd coat is 40% 2soft 60% paint.. and so on just add less and less 2 soft. Hope that makes sense!

2 soft is great anytime you're painting a softer material such as nubuck and mesh to leave it feeling like the original material

For white, you may need the 4 oz just to be safe but the 1oz for everything else is fine

You can clean them the same way you’d clean a non painted shoe, the paint should stay on with no problem if done right!

had a thought, i have a fair bit of angelus paint, would instead of using the duller in every colour could you use the neutral angelus and just use the duller with that over all of the work to make it all matte in one go, save some money.

Nope the duller is meant to go with the paint as an additive, not a top coat.

Toxic Viper oh most definitly, if possible allowing real dry time without the heat gun is the real preferred method... you could also use a blow dryer if you didn’t have a heat gun

You would be fine if you didn’t on this specific pair.. but if you want the best hope of keeping it as soft as possible and you’re okay with it taking longer than use 2 soft

2 soft is usually used in a 1 : 1 ratio and duller usually accounts for about 10% of your mixture.. vans are a little different than something like primeknit or a cotton based sock liner so here id probably say somewhere around 55/35/10

I don't see it in the list, do I need the grey for the undercoats? what is the difference if I just do the undercoats of white? and are the stencils reusable?

Jacob Waters so the grey will cut down on the amount of coats needed since it’s way more opaque than white. You’ll spend wayyyyy coats trying to go straight into white. Stencils are a sticky vinyl so you can put it back on the sheet and save it.. we’ve consider making em a more reusable plastic but then it wouldn’t really grab onto the shoe making the tracing process harder as you’d really have to work to hold it in place.

Tony P mix 2soft with light grey... 2 soft isn’t paint it’s only an additive which essentially allows the paint mixture to stay a little softer when applied on mesh or nubuck.. you wouldn’t paint anything with 2 soft by itself

No these are specifically meant for the lows so on the pair of highs that panel is a bit smaller. So it would end being a bit long, however it could still be a great guide if you were interested and willing to fiddle around with it.

Sydedx22 duller gives the paint a factory “matte” look removing any shine. Stencils can be made countless ways depending what tools you have at your disposal. Ours are machine cut.

Rafaella Saleh you will end up dramatically changing the texture of the surface. Also run a much higher risk of paint cracking
