Thanks for great tutorials and amazing products. It's like ordering new shoes when I order more Angelus products. Lol! I'm always looking for my package with the Angelus tape! Keep up the hard work, yet crafty. #CreateWhatYouCantHave 🙌🏾
Question....I painted a faux suede shoe with acrylic paint...spray sealed it with mod podge and the Paint cracked the first time I wore them...how can I avoid the cracking?
@@jaybz_insomniart When it comes to suede, we recommend a suede dye. With fabric materials, we recommend mixing the paint with 2-soft and heat setting.
We recommend it. It will help the paint to adhere to the surface better and will not cause the material to be stiff and hard. If you have any more questions feel free to contact us at Info@angelusshoepolish.com
Daffa Fauzan in general tho, why would you spend money on something you don’t neseccarily need? Why buy a rain coat when you live somewhere it barely ever rains, or why buy a coffee machine if you only ever drink tea? Get my point now?
I really enjoyed this video! I enjoyed the tutorial this gentleman gave! He was very knowledgeable and went a pace easy to follow! I'm brand new to sneaker customization, but after watching this video I feel like I could do a decent job on a pair of canvas shoes! Keep up the great work you guys! Everybody I watch from this channel is awesome and very good with their work
i swear you guys do a video on the stuff i need to know after i already go and do it. i just finished a custom on some mesh roshes and it was a struggle because the "customer" wanted a logo on the toe box area.
Thanks . But How do I paint Rubber sole. I have a pair of Pajar the sole is white rubber I need to change the color. to tan or light blue. Please could you give some ideas.
Although Angelus paint can be applied to soles/midsoles of shoes, it is not guaranteed to hold up. Therefore it is not recommended to paint on soles. If done so, be prepared for the paint to chip and crack immediately and often.
Look guys, gals and people from beyond this world - if you apply the paint correctly as I am showing you (IE: Not too thick) it will turn out great. It won't crack, peel or explode for some random reason. The purpose of these videos is to help offer basic insight into how to create your own version of a custom shoe. On these shoes shown in the video, they feel the same as the non painted ones, it's all about the technique. Thanks for watching, keep watching and keep creating.
It's completely option but we wouldn't suggest it. Finisher is mostly used to provide a nice sheen to your project. Adding finisher to canvas or fabrics will cause the material to harden and become very stiff. If you have any more questions feel free to contact us at Info@angelusshoepolish.com
how do I set the paint? I have a really nice pair of shoes that cost around $500 and I don't want to mess them up. I don't have a heat gun and when I looked online some websites said you can throw them in the dryer, but I just can't get around to throwing $500 kicks in the dryer. Will a hair dryer work to set them? Please respond to this, I really want to paint the mesh part of my shoes with angelus paint.
So you use 2 thin for airbrushes in a 50 50 ratio with paint and 2 soft to keep fabrics soft in a 50 50 ratio with paint? The only prepping you need to do with canvas or cans is taping if needed?
Correct. However, you may not need as much 2 Thin. It may depend on the individual paint. (some paints have thicker pigments than others) We suggest starting off with a 1:4 ratio of 2-Thin first and add more per needed.
Love this. Got some air max ones and with in a week got a little mud on mesh on tow box and heels. Came here to look for this video. Did what u told me to step by step and am bloody shocked how awsome my trainers look!! They are now limited edition anniversary red thanks to you guys massive respect
We typically do not recommend it. Even with 2 Soft the paint will cause the suede to become hard and stiff. It will no longer have the suede look and feel.
I’m trying to paint converse chuck 70 tongue but can’t get 2 soft or gac 900 am I able to use water instead but keep the ratio the same and if so do I still need a heat gun
If a fabric medium is out of the questions then water may help to thin the paint and allow it to absorb better than just the straight paint however it's not ideal. We always recommend using 2-Soft so painting without may be something you need to experiment with on your end and see what works best for you
Can I paint white over my crimson coloured mesh ? I’ve recently gotten the Nike m2k tekno in the colour flash crimson but I want to change the colour of the tongue from crimson to white. Will the tongue of the shoe turn hard or will the paint crack ? Please help me I’m desperate 😆. Tq in advance.
I noticed that it takes longer for the Angelus paint with 2-soft to dry on mesh material, than actual leather which I anticipated. With that said, how long does it actually take for the paint on the mesh to dry?
Each light coat should take 15-20 mins. Once the last layer is on then heat set the paints fro 3-5 minutes using a heat gun. From there give the shoes about 24 -48 hours to cure and set before wearing.
What if I want to paint on canvas shoes using non-refillable paint markers? I wouldn't be able to mix 2-soft with them. Can I brush it on beforehand? Please help.
As always, this is an excellent guide -- particularly for someone like me who is brand new to this process. Even though they're black, will I be able to dye a pair of canvas Adidas Daily 3.0 a lighter gray?
So I have a question not related to this video but I'm using your products for it......I'm painting a guitar, do I still deglaze it or do I need to sand it or something?
Yes when you are working with that Fabric material you can mix our paint with our Angelus 2-soft fabric medium. Mixing the 2 will help the paint adhere on that type of fabric materials. It is a simple process. Check out the 2-soft here angelusdirect.com/products/angelus-2-soft-fabric-medium If you have any more questions feel free to let us know.
No, just make sure to apply light even coats of paint. Finisher is not recommended on that type of material. If you have any more questions email us at info@angelusshoepolish.com
The paints are durable as is but if you're looking for some extra protection then we like using our Water and Stain Repellent. angelusdirect.com/products/water-stain-repellent?_pos=1&_sid=2f3d9ceba&_ss=r
Yes, 2- Soft will work with any kind of fabric material. Once the paint has been applied and heat set, it is safe to wash with no issues of the paint coming off.
It may be something to experiment with. We suggest using Angelus Paint. If you have any more questions feel free to contact us at Info@angelusshoepolish.com
Does anyone else feel that 2 soft doesnr leave a factory finish? For me it is stiffer than the original fabric. not to much but definetely it changes a bit
Yeah it's still being painted so there's still going to be a change to the texture. Most importantly, 2-Soft will help the paint adhere better to the fabric and will not fade or chip after time. If properly heat set, the material should be be much softer than it would be without 2-Soft and the heat.
is it okey for all shoes material. either canvas, mesh suede, nubuck ? coz i'm stuck with the lable acrylic leather angelus paint. i thought it's only for the specific as mention on the lable. need advice im so newbie here.
Correct. The paint is a leather acrylic however, we carry additives which will help the paint to adhere to fabrics, plastics and more. If you have any more questions feel free to contact us at Info@angelusshoepolish.com
Alex, the ratio of 2 Soft to paint is 1:1. Apply multiple coats until you obtain full and even coverage, Allow paint to completely dry and Heat-set using a heatgun at 300º F for 3-5 minutes (this step is REQUIRED).
Hi Nicholas, Are you mixing 2 Soft with the paint? Mixing the 2 will help the paint adhere on that type of fabric materials and will help it from drying hard. Check out the 2-soft here angelusdirect.com/products/angelus-2-soft-fabric-medium Once the paint and 2 Soft has been applied, it is then required to heat set using a heat gun. Make sure to check out our other videos on how to paint mesh and fabrics. If you have any more questions then let us know. Thanks!
We suggest using our Angelus Paint and mixing either 2-Soft or GAC 900 into the paint to paint on fabric. Once heat set, the paints will adhere better and keep the materials nice and soft.
If I use white angelus paints (or any other light shade) on a black mesh or Primeknit NMD, will the colour come out dull? Or would I need to apply more paint layers to get a solid lighter colour?
You will want to paint the base light enough for the main paint to show up at its best capabilities! Do not forget to mix our 2-soft fabric medium and our paint. We suggest using this on all fabrics such as a flyknit material.
Angelus Shoe Polish didn't you just say on comments above its not recommended but can help to use gac 900 or to soft ?? I'm confused, some video's you guys say always use a fabric medium and heat set on mesh & fabric, on others you guys use water, on others you only use the paint & say it's not recommended but can help... It's confusing. 2 different people asked the same question about using 2 soft on mesh and you gave 2 different answers.Do we need to use 2 soft or gac 900 on mesh or canvas or not ?? Thank you.. Love your products, just gets confusing getting different answers on 1 question.
