Hello El, I think I didn't use the included foam rubber tape. But the paint will stick on to the metal rim of subwoofer so I assume it is properly sealed. 😁
Hello Sean, i install led that bar to protect the overly expensive subwoofer. No doesn't effect the output at all. You can find them speaker bars mostly everywhere.
