I agree with regards to slowing it down at times. I built a Fairy Huntsman about 10 or 12 years ago which I generally take out when the water is choppy, she thrives on rough conditions. It's easy as much fun as the fast stuff, just different.

I like that sportfisher. Growing up around the waters of Eastern Long Island in the 80’s I got the bug to make my college major Naval Architecture and even worked briefly in the field. Built two similar wooden models years ago and I actually still have them. They’d have to be about 40 years old. I always wanted to build something that looked like a Striker, maybe I will yet. I used them for display, but they are RC designs and after seeing your video, I think I just may have to get some running gear in them and get them launched in the pool or a pond. My boys might just enjoy seeing that too! Also, I like your idea of spray rails along the stern to cut down that wash over. Maybe a little expo on the rudder channel would help reduce that rolling tendency in the turns. Might even try an experiment with a smaller rudder but that’s kind of a pain.

I have aeromarine laminates Challenger off shore that I put 3 dudes in the cockpit. It's the scale one that I have. It's totally cool to slow things down. It suffered severely from smoke inhalation 😂😂😂😂 getting a face lift👍👍🤙

Great looking Sporty ! Nice build. Be proud of your work. You might want to try some chine strakes along the sides from mid ship to transom. It should help with rear from digging in and also give you more lift. Keep having fun !!!

the only thing I think you need with that are trim tabs to help with the rolling when cornering

nice build, hey you just need to attach spray rails of 3x5 mm wood about 6 inches long on each side of the rear of the boat about an inch down from the deck, stops her tipping in the turns. my Billings boats white star Florida sport fishing model handles brilliant, have a look on the internet where the strips are on the white star, cheers, hope this helps :) p.s. ah I see at the end of the video your on to it lol awesome.... have fun.

How were you able to make the top lid for the hull? I have seen the hulls online, but curious how you complete it.
