Custom Carl-bot Welcome Message Tutorial!

This is the prefix version of commands, they're NOT outdated. Carl-bot has the message intents. Read the explanation below.
As of August 31st 2022, slash commands are a discord requirement due to the message content intent becoming privileged. Which means developers now need to apply for the intent, Carl has this intent and if it were to change then there would be an announcement made in Carl-bot Help, the official Carl-bot support server where you'll be kept up to date with changes to the bot and any important updates.

if anyone is having trouble with the server icon, make sure you use the right brackets. {server(icon)} notice that there are two different sets of brackets! i spent 30 minutes pulling my hair out over this lol

You use this link found here; discord.com/oauth2/authorize?&client_id=235148962103951360&scope=applications.commands+bot&permissions=2088234230&response_type=code&redirect_uri=carl.gg/api/server_auth Alternatively you can go to carl.gg and invite them from there once you're logged in.

@@Azimazing You can just add {embed(time):now} into the content box and it will auto post the time a user joined in the timestamp field.

After spending hours with YAGPDB ( name definitley threw me off....lol yagagagbs) anyway, carl-bot was by far the easisest to set up so far and obviously with the help of this video. Too many people trying so hared to do tuts, it's terrible...one guy i watched lol, was so fast I thought he was a bot. I've subbed in hopes of more tuts within discord and it's apps. To anyone getting a bad request or error when trying to recreate this potato quality video that feels like it was shot with bandicam back in 2003, the problem is the brackets. I also read {server{icon}} but it's {server(icon)}

Is there a way to display the actual user names and Discord channel names in the mobile notification? I've got a nice message set up, but the mobile notification has the long number IDs attached to it. Doing the test greeting doesn't send me a phone notification, so it's hard to test without people actually joining. Thanks so much, and the video was a great help!

That might be the discord cache bug if it's not properly displaying clickable channels or names. If you swing by the support server and share a screenshot in the `#welcome-logging` support channel it'll be easier to confirm! discord.gg/S2ZkBTnd8X

i really liked this tutorial because unlike other tutorials, it's simple and pretty straightforward but the thing is whenever i type the prefix "!testgreet" this comes up: Failed to send greet message: HTTPException: 400 Bad Request (error code: 50035): Invalid Form Body In embeds.0.author.icon_url: Not a well formed URL. In embeds.0.thumbnail.url: Not a well formed URL. if u could please help me that would be great. ty!

I had this problem as well, a comment further down highlighted that it is important to get the brackets right on the server icon and user icon: {server(icon)} notice how there are two different brackets here. Your error message says its a wrong author icon and thumbnail icon url. To fix that just change the server icon to be {server(icon)} and user icon to be {user(icon)}

How many users do you actually have in your server? Because bots are also counted within that count.
