Custom Chrome Eyes Upgrade Tutorial for G1 Transformers Powermaster Optimus Prime / Super Ginrai 

When you popped out the eye piece I could hear Megatron from Transformers the Movie. "I'll rip out your optics!"

This is a sweet customization project. It would be cool to do this same thing with Soundwave or Megatron.

I agree the red Chrome eyes has much a better affect 4 the bigger Transformers. I also like your tip on getting a good grip on the screwdriver I use those screwdrivers all the time they're always slipping in my fingers. Now I'll have something to hold on too. LOL

I did something similar when I was a kid with my Powermaster OP, but I used some metallic red model paint. I also painted my Fort Max’s eyes because the stickers looked awful IMO. I love the visor you made for yours. The Dinobots, Fort Max, Metroplex and Powermaster OP I like the red eyes.

My customizing of both powermaster Optimus Prime's was just buying 2 original gen one or two Optimus Prime rifles and double the armaments on the base mode meaning instead of two of each might have four of each. The reasons for both customisations was the following the rifles that came with the powermaster Optimus Prime with too big in the butt for the small Optimus Prime to hold except for pointing at the ground. And the base mode looked woefully under-armed.

They both look cool, but I would have to go with blue though, cause that's Optimus!

Wow, thanks for that. When I get my power master optimus I'm going to do that, but still debating if I want him with blue or red. I mean in the comics they were red but in super god master force and the commercials they're blue. Also when you talked about double dealer's eyes, the red suits him better because the blue blends into his face.

Amazing video Michael! I must admit, I'm a traditionalist when it comes to Prime, and thought the blue eyes from your original Powermaster Prime feature were brilliant. But I think the red chrome eyes do look a bit better they just give hime a little something extra.

I saw a Japanese Transformers fan fix up the busted Encore God Fire Optimus set and they used this exact technique for the Super Mode head. Simple but effective!

I've never liked the red eyes that came with PM Optimus. The reissue inner robot comes with blue eyes, which are MUCH better. I've been playing with yellow electrical tape for the PM mode. I think I might try blue next!

What shade of blue chrome tape did you use for your Powermaster Optimus Prime? I plan to use the same for the eyes of my TFC STC Optimus Prime due to it having light piping for eyes

Hey Michael, I was curious as to how I can do this to Godbomber. I don’t have shiny blue tape but I happen to have flat blue tape which worked well for Optimus/Ginrai. The tape is kinda gummy so it’s hard to cut by itself, I tried cutting along an outline of godbombers eyes but it just left a small scratch! Any suggestions, because I’m considering just painting his eyes

I have a question and would be thankful if anyone could answer it. I don't have many details but here's what I got, I have an Optimus Prime figure that I bought I would say about a decade ago. He has blue metallic finish eyes, he has a metal cab and has what looks like burn marks mostly on his arms. He's about a foot tall and very heavy. Pretty much every part is moveable, down to his "mouth", you can move it up and down the way it moved whenever he talked in the cartoon. I think he's some kind of anniversary version but I'd like to know for sure. Oh and I don't think he came with a trailer either, it was just him. Thanks in advance to anyone who provides any info.

What version is the blue eye powermaster prime?

Granted Optimus Prime doesn't look right with red optics, the blue isn't accurate accept for the cartoon, I'd go for yellow as most of the Transformers originally had.
