Get a 1200...you'll be dumping money into 883 you'll never get back out of it when you're ready for a dyna or softail...

you really just have to go for it and start with a bike. If that 883 is what you want and is cool for you all good. After a little it might be a little underwhelming and you may want a bigger bike but still really fun and makes for great experiences.

Spend the coin on the bassani, equal length stepped headers...exact words out of vance and hines customer service when we couldn't get one of their 2 into 1s to tune on a 1250 were that they make pipes for looks and sound not performance. Thunderheader is another awesome option.

yeah you'd be just fine with some 12 inch bars, I think it'd be real close to shoulder height for you. My bars are under shoulder height for me at 14 inches and 6 foot.

Jan Fisco Its really hard to tell, everyone likes things a little bit different. I've know some shorter people that ride with 16's inch apes and have no issues at all and the tbars will be much closer to you than apes would be. I'd say you'll probably be ok. Mine are 14"s so that'll give you some idea of how tall they will be

J always say that'll you'll spend the most on bars and exhaust and after that it doesn't break the bank the bank took much, you can just do little things here and there after those 2 big purchases

Kellen Lee Thanks man! the Dyna is my favorite bike I just have so much money tied up in my bike and I know I can get the same satisfaction out of my sportster when I start building the motor. I'm just one of those guys that buy something and go crazy with it and can't justify getting rid of it, I was going to get a killer deal on a Lowrider S last year I shouldn't have refused but I thought higher bike payment and have to start all over customizing it. I'll just keep the Iron and throw more money at it in time and when I own it I'll buy another bike lol

Fast-Action Jax yeah that's where I'm at, mines paid off I can sell it for what I got in it, but then again if I got a road glide I'd be in payments again and that's not what I need right now, I'm like you I do mostly city riding to and from work so a road glide would do much justice right now although it'd be badass, I'll have one one day

Rod Keaster I actually did feel a little cramped in the beginning, they had the pull back mislabeled in our book so I ordered them thinking they'd have 2 inches less pullback, but after raising the bike a bit and changing seats it's about perfect, I'm 6 foot and have a hell of a reach. It's all good now.

Rod Keaster Tbars are great, in don't see myself ever riding with another bar again. You won't regret it. Very rigid handling, always feel in control, not bar movement ever!

thank you! Yes I had to lengthen the cables for the bars, on a sportster you have to change cables on any bars higher than 6 inches

Then i don't know if i want my tbars or my fairing first :D (money wise). For 12" tbars, what lenghtening would you suggest ?

I just went with a burly cable kit, cheap and effective. I've had no issues with them. fairing would probably be cheaper than bars.

A bit less cheap here in France, but ill look at what i really need to change (already changed my brake line). Although i have to think to this mod, because i have a gauge relocator (RSD), so that's more money to spend to relocate it if it doesn't fit ;)

moose G yes it does, I was actually really surprised by just how much. Takes the wind right off my chest and makes riding at higher mph much more enjoyable.

Small speed screen on fxdls even makes a difference...

honestly it is kinda a pain. But I drilled two little holes in the side close to the bottom of the fairing to get a screwdriver in there and now its very simple and the holes just look like part of the fairing, no one notices and they do not come painted and I never painted mine and it still looks good

It's made by cycle Vision but I honestly would not recommend it, I have had to weld it back together twice. just poor quality. Joker Machine makes one that mounts to the Fork tubes and I stand behind their stuff, All the joker machine product I have and have seen is great quality
