At the 2:00 mark I start the walkthrough of the mods I've done to my 2017 Ducati Scrambler Cafe Racer, including changing out the 54 number panels, integrated rear turn signals, and getting rid of decals, stickers, and reflectors.

Great bike! You obviously have good taste. 👍 I was hesitant to change anything on my bike for the first year I owned it. I loved it so much just the way it was. Recently thou I took the plunge and removed that rear mudguard/plate assembly and moved the plate up under the seat. So glad I did. It really is a dramatic change and cost me nothing. I also added LED turn signals that were under twenty bucks and look like they belong on the bike. Next thing I plan on doing is wrapping the pipes and possibly losing that bread box in the exhaust system but only if I can figure out how to keep the stock appearance of the Termi dual tips and cover. Keep up the good work making the CR your own and be careful out there.

Wrapping the pipes would look so cool! Maybe I'll jump on the license plate too, it'll clean it up a lot back there. Thanks for the feedback, definitely let me know what else you end up doing. The bike is stellar and I love keeping up with other people's mods of it!

Meghan Your bike is beautiful! When I was your age there were NO Sport Bikes. There were regular bikes and Cafe Racers! When the Sport bikes hit the market, Cafe Racers were forgotten. The Cafe Racer and Naked bikes are coming back in a huge way and I am happy you and a lot of others in your generation worship the look!! I have always built Cafe Racers because it's my favorite genre. They are works of art. I have a sport bike for the track but I ride a 2017 Triumph Thruxton R with the Cafe Fairing. Hi Meghan: It's good to see you modding the bike to make it yours. The term "cafe racer" is much abused these days; a real cafe racer is not bought from a store OEM or from a boutique workshop; it's a unique, minimalist bike, modded by it's owner. The simple rules used to be throw away anything superfluous, drill holes in what's left and then paint it red or black or put on a shiny ally tank. Rear-sets, clip-ons and a single seat. the owners also knew how to fix their own bikes; of course they were much simpler. Girlfriends were sub-100lb and around 5'2" or less unless they had their own bikes, then it didn't matter. Enjoy that bike!

I think Triumph 2019 scrambler might change your view of such bikes. That bike can do serious off road stuff and does not look like a robot as africa twin or gs1200 etc...

Great job but personally much prefer the original version. I have one and totally LOVE the look. The ONLY thing I dislike is the number plate arm. It’s functional but ruins the flow of the bike for me. I live in Spain so the number plate is heavily checked by the cops in terms of size and positioning so don’t have much choice...Best stock cafe racer by far though!

It is so stunning stock. A lot of people are sad that I got rid of the number. I still have all the pieces and could easily go back if I wanted. I really wish they made it so you could pick your number at the dealership, I thought they'd be really cool

Hi Meghan from the other side of the pond, Hampshire, UK. Nice looking bike, great mods. my current rides are a 2017 Africa Twin and a 2018 baby GS. GS is great for the beautiful country lanes here in Blighty and my AT took me up and over the Italian Alps this summer. I also love the Desert Sled and might add one of those to my stable next year. Yes I always thought it was funny! Ducati is using it as a catch all sub-brand for the bikes with this frame, even though the cafe racer has no traditional scrambler characteristics at all! That's one reason I took the decal off. The Desert Sled is the most scrambler one they've put out so far.

I have the Icon and did some mods myself. I like the rear brake /turn signal on your bike, I may need to look into that. Love to see the ladies on two wheels !

Thanks! I love to see the ladies on two wheels too! haha. Yeah the rear mod looks great and is ~pretty straightforward~ if things aren't tightened down so damn hard (and sealed with loctite) in assembly. We stripped a few screws but the end result looks good.

Nice bike mods. I wouldn't use plastic electrical tape to hide those wires though. I'd recommend you use Automotive Adhesive Electrical Cloth Black Tape which you can find on eBay or Amazon, I'm sure. This is what OEM use. The electrical tape will perish over time with heat etc and will become a awful looking, sticky mess.

I started just with your new helmet Icon Airflight. From there, listening to you talked, about anything, i paid attention attentively. I dont ride motocycle but in the market for a helmet. Oh man! She's a knockout. Damn! Never seen anything like her.The minute the video started running, I was totally in love. The rider looks nice too. What year is this beauty and model# if any? Thanks. Never mind guys. Lady rider just answered my question. Just got too excited when I saw the bike and didn't wait to watch the vid in its entirety before asking those "??" Anyone else thinks the gas tank is so reminiscent of a 1969 BMW R69S gas tank? My dad used to own one. Now off to the nearest local dealership.Thanks nice lady.

9:44 I have an extra can of Auto Dip if you wanted to give that a go. It’s essentially spray on vinyl wrap. Much more elegant solution vs flex seal. I’m in MKE so give me a holler if you’re interested. Suppose you could always get the pieces powder coated for a longer term /more permanent solution

If you're going to paint the gas filler cover, you may consider pulling it off the tank and having it powdercoated gold to match the accent colors so you don't have to deal with fuel issues. Or you could get some engine enamel (I think Duplicolor has some in a spray can)...it's fuel resistant and would be a better route to go IMO...nice bike!

i have a ducati cafe racer , but i wouldnt change anything on it ... i 'm always modifing my bikes to look more appealing and unique, but this time i think ducati 've done pretty much everything to make this bike look awesome ... i'm happy that you feel better with the mods you've done to it, but i personally think it wasn't necessary ... nice choice of a bike tho ...

own the same bike .. would recommend installing rizoma club L (front) and Club S ( rear) indicators to give it vintage look. also a foldable side number plate will cleanup the rear.

Hey cool, my fiancee has this bike (I did a review on it) and she's looking to do similar things to her's. She did get a leather strap for the whole tank that is supposed to be a phone holder, but she took the case off.
