Custom Exhaust Built at Home isn't really all that difficult if you have patience and a plan. In this video we ditch the restrictive 2" exhaust on my 1964 Mercury Comet and install a fully custom 2.5" exhaust including an X pipe from Pypes and Flowmaster Super 44 Mufflers.
The x pipe will free up extra horsepower from its scavenging affect while the 2.5" diameter stainless steel exhaust will let this 302 breathe a lot better.
Check out the plan, install, weight savings, and sound check on my favorite ratty muscle car.

Hello from Tucson, Arizona. Just found your channel on 10-15-2023. Love what your doing. I think the mufflers sound terrific. Loud is cool, but it gets old after a while. The cutouts are the best solution, in my opinion. I like cutouts. You can drive your car without it being to obnoxious, but when you need the noise and want to wake up the neighbors...open up the cutouts and bring on the smiles. Great channel. Just terrific. Thank you for taking the time to share your projects with us.

Great job on the exhaust came out great! Performance wise I say use something with a straight through core like Dynomax and Magnaflow offer. If your looking for something unique sounding then go spintec.

I agree! Kinda wish I went Spintech but luckily I can snag some Dynomax bullets and they are cheap and easily swappable. I appreciate you watching and commenting

Maybe try some Black Widows. They have many choices of muffler to pick from. Good luck. 👍🏻

Yea my initial thoughts were between Black Widow, Spintech, Dynomax, and Pypes. Its growing on me a bit. Who knows maybe some cutouts eventually

Black widow is nice they are loud outside and have pretty much zero drone inside. They sound wicked outside though.

Nice!,I know you want to scare small children😮,but it be sounds awesome!,(crisp)but can’t get a decibel off the vid. How about those auger type mufflers? Dave with the white 66 gt350,(has an autotopia video) that thing sounds pretty gnarly! 👍🏼🤙🏼

Ill have to check them out. Its honestly Growing on me. It has a good sound its just a little subdued when you really Stomp it. Maybe a set of electric cutouts could be the ticket Im Not sure.
