In the absence of any decent weather, and without much of a voice left, I've made a short video of a small and easy project that will do wonders for your instrument's safety and longevity.
Great! When are you doing mine? 😂 Kidding aside, great idea and great job! I've been battling buying the case I want or one that's molded to fit and I've yet to find one.
Polyethelyne foam, I buy it from Para Rubber on Blenheim Road in Christchurch. They have a big bin of offcuts and the block in the video was $10. Polyethylene foam is widely used in packaging high end electronics as it's a 'closed cell' foam, meaning moisture can't get in, it won't act like a sponge, and your guitar will stay nice and dry. No bandsaw? No problem: a good craft knife will cut it like butter. And any good fabric store will have a selection of furry fabrics to chose from, I went with black this time but you can get anything from purple polkadots to tiger stripes if that's your thing. Thanks.
