I gotta ask, what size wheel are you running in the back. If you have a 5.5 wide wheel, have you ever taken the wheel off yourself? I have a 2018 ISB and I am running a 5.5 wheel on the rear (RC Component Patriot Eagle Eclipse to be exact). Nonetheless, instead of being able to simply and easily slip the caliper off of the rotor, I have to disassemble the damn caliper to get the pads out so that the caliper would clear the rotor and the wheel! I’ve not seen anyone on YT run into this exact problem since most YTers seem to stick w/ the OEM wheels even if they go w/ a wider tire. Anyway, I wanted to see if you’ve run into the same issue ever. It appears because the wheel is wider, the rotor sits slightly deeper into the wheel, decreasing the clearance between the wheel and rotor as I previously stated. Once I get my YT channel up, I am going to have to talk about this. I couldn’t find anyone who had posted content on this issue. Anyway, I got the wheel off w/o a single scratch or scuff. I can only imagine the pain in the arse it’s going to be to get the pads back onto that rotor once the wheel is on. The first time I tried to install the wheel on my bike, I couldn’t figure out how to get that caliper onto the rotor w/ that wheel. initially when I got the wheel, I ended up having to have my bike towed to the dealership to complete the install because I couldn’t figure out how to reinstall the caliper and didn’t have the confidence to disassemble it. Of course they wouldn’t tell me how they got the caliper back onto the rotor. Any how… job halfway done. BTW, I live in Phoenix, AZ. Hopefully sometime this year I’ll ride over and check out your bike in-person. I am on the Indian Motorcycle forum as Legman37 if you want to see pics of my bike w/ the mods I chose.
I've yet to take the wheel off, but to remove the wheels off, you just have to remove one mounting bolt from the caliper and that's it, no removing brake pads or anything. sounds like the RC components set it up differently. Yes, i have a 5.5" wide rim.
@@RiteonJohn I suppose it pretty much depends on the wheel. For 5.5 wide wheels, the depth of the rotor may vary. I took the wheel to the dealership today to have a new tire installed. The mechanic confirmed that for a 5.5 wide wheel, you'll generally have to have to remove one of the pads to be able to slip the caliper off.
can be purchased at any Indian Dealership. Must paint yourself though. it's easy, use fishing line and a heat gun or hair dryer. need goo gone to clean it up.
@@RiteonJohn hey brother.. Awesome bike. I may be doing the same wheels on my bobber. How do I get in touch with you to save some $? I’m not on insta or any social media
