What tuning machines did you use? Looking at the grover mini bass specs the flys are 34mm while the jackson ones are 32mm while you only have 2mm space between them when both are position flat so it seems the tuners could potentially rub up against one another while tuning if one of them holds tune in the flattened position if this makes any sense 😵

I've played that bass before. Jackson makes some pretty good basses. One thing about this bass, it encompasses a concept that I believe Ken Smith pioneered, which was graphite reinforced necks on their basses. Graphite reinforced necks cause the neck to be very stable thus causing it to have a very powerful sound. A lot of bass builders use graphite inlays now to include, fender, kiesel, just to name a couple and also Ken Smith, can't forget him, even without the upgrades to that bass, it sounds good. Ibanez makes one as well, but that Jackson is my favorite, they use graphite reinforcement on the necks of all their basses. Good review 👍

Dude they are making a lot of good quality short scale basses these days. Music Man, Sterling, Sire, Ibanez, etc all have really good short scales. My girlfriend loves playing short scale but I love taking a short scale and a regular scale to gigs for the different sounds. If you end up getting into it I definitely recommend the Ibanez Mikro, Sire U5, and Sterling Stingray Shortscale. Have fun man!

I turned Bully the kid on my gma tv two weeks ago and hid her controller so your videos have been playing at her house for 2 weeks straight 24/7 and everyone has came to except it. They just grab a drink and some popcorn and ask what u doing in this episode

Since you love this little guy I just thought I should mention that I’m currently having a custom made bass and it has a 22.8 inch scale! I have one already and they are the most fun I have ever had playing bass. It’s funny to hear such good slap on a mini bass! Keep it coming my man!

I recently bought the Ibanez version, the GSRM20b. Felt kinda the same, been playing bass for 25 years now, being 6'1", but with hands half the size of yours... 🤣 Tiny bass! But it plays really smooth. Big thumbs up for your vid.

Dude, I love that bass! If I may offer a correction to the description, I believe that has Geezer Butler EMGs in it, which are passive. I could be wrong tho

You are correct. Wilkinson tuners, Hipshot A-style bridge, Mini knobs, EMG GZR pickups. I also sanded and oiled the neck and did a full fret job as they were rather pokey from the factory. Good eye on the pickups.

Wow I'm a small guy 5 5. 140 lbs and I have always played long or mid scale bass's. For 37 years but I tried that minon and I couldn't played it. As always love your videos.

I was about to buy one at Guitar Center last week but I was thrown off by that funky angle the E string comes off the nut to the tuning peg. I see that creating a problem down the road. I may be wrong.

Yeah it's a smaller scale bass but I would look into sire guitars short scale basses. They take far less work to sound awesome.

I don't know why, but the purple minions just look adorable. They're like a goofy younger brother trying sooooo hard to be metal, but just can't quite make it. And hey, if it doesn't work out as an instrument, it's still small enough to use as a pendant :) Great video!
