In this fly tying tutorial Cheech shows how to blend your own space leech dubbing!
I have always liked to mess with custom dubbings, and as of late I have been playing with some leech blends that have great stillwater colors. They move great in the water, and they are fairly easy to blend and they are great to tie with. There are 12 colors right now, and many more can be had with the full line of up these materials!

I like it ! Been blending dubbing for leeches last few years and came up with a few winners myself. One of my favorites is Semperfli semperseal in Claret and Hoarders Bloody Black 50/50 and a pinch of pearl ice dub. It’s a killer leech color in the fall.

I'm 5secs in..... Did you enjoy your "space trip" lol 😂 .. Really cool way to make you're own dub. I've only been tying for about 5 months and this is something I had not seen yet. I will surely be experimenting with this

Coffee grinder is no good for long fibers.

Any good substitutes for the ice wing fiber until I can get my hands on some? UV Shrimp Ice Dub, flashabou, etc?

Thats the fun part about fly tying, if you dont have the specific material you just experiment with something you got and hope it works

@@scorkmc Completely understand your comment - been tying for over 30 years. I haven't used wing fiber before, so was curios without seeing the width and other properties... though I have some ideas. Creativity is the best - just need Cheech to jump on the Jamieson bandwagon 🙂
