The fact that the model isn't based off of one singular locomotive makes this all the much better! You developed this train the same way a real life railways would, you had a problem "you needed a heavy weight full size freight engine" , you built an engine within certain constraints "limited curve radius and city clearences" and you designed the train with a complimenting livery. This locomotive is more genuine in development and design because of the process that your took and that honestly makes this engine 100x better than any replica

I know that you probably will never sell instructions for your mocs but I know there are plenty of people that would pay good money to be able to recreate your builds! You’re a really great builder! But I do understand your original creations are mainly for your own enjoyment and I respect that. Thanks for all the great content!

Was amazing to be able to watch you construct this through multiple streams, testing methods, going back and forth on your process, until you found something you were pleased with. I think it's fantastic, and seeing it going around the city, it really does have that American Loco vibe. I think you nailed it Jang. VERY well done! :)

Another great train from Jang! I'm impressed by the fact that it's only six studs wide and still has this much detail. I know it's not supposed to look like anything specific, but the angled grilles at the rear, the vertical windshield, and the lower mid-section of the roof makes this resemble the SD70ACe

Fantastic looking locomotive! Love all the details you've incorporated all over the body and co-co bogies. Honestly, I think it is much more difficult to build a locomotive without a reference to a particular real-life loco. Great job.

We need more steam trains or steam train parts. Having to get custom wheels and drive rods is expensive. I would love to see a remake or a successor to the Emerald Knight. Also, we really need a rechargeable PU hub. These battery boxes are such battery hogs…

Using your boxcars for propulsion instead of the locomotives themselves is a good call. The only trouble you may have with that would be if you wanted to run a locomotive on by its lonesome, but as far as I can tell you definitely prefer your trains to have plenty of rolling stock. Point is, I like seeing you flourish on a project and you definitely did on this one. You were able to add a lot of nice detail without the compromise of adding motors and whatnot. This is a beautiful MOC Jang! I’m not too big into trains but this one is really nice. Good job.

Amazing. As soon as I get out of college and get a place of my own, I'm going whole hog on a lego train system... It's calling my name! Hesitant to get into the world of motors however; it seems like there are so many contrasting systems, not sure which is the easiest to use and build with.

Don't worry about the modern diesel variations. They are not too different. I challenge you though, to do a non Santa-Fe F-7 like the one Lego made years ago, like a Baldwin RF-16, or a Alco PA/PB, or a mix of the early gen 1 diesels.

the sideways building at the front is extremely well done. The railing build is also really nice, the different pieces used around the stairs and the top of those stairs makes for a great little transition. Usually not that big on train builds, but this one is especially great. Well done as always Jang ^^ keep it up!

Jang, I grew up a block away from a set of train tracks up here in Canada and seen 1000's of these over my lifetime. This is a CN engine if I've ever seen one! 😜😆 Kidding aside, I think many Canadians are thinking of the Canadian Pacific(CP) engines which had a reversed colour scheme(mostly red, partly black with the same white arrow). Looking at images of the Southern Pacific, I don't see any with the white arrow, so maybe what we got here is a hybrid of the CP/SP??

Sd70ACE and sd70m are fairly easy, it's the cab and nose, some also share radiators. I personally can't tell you how people can identify the tier 4 and other tiers of loco without reading the side. The hardest to identify are the GE AC and DC series.
