Sorry for the late response. I would just buy a new Timex or Fossil etc on Amazon. Something with a simple band (since you will be replacing the band).

Hey, usually 3-4oz, thicker if there is space between the watch case and pin.

+Matthew Resendez Hey, it kinda depends where you live.... I use several places to get leather. But, many people have a Tandy Leather near them (that way you can choose the hide you want). Where do you live?

Texas, I kind of wanted to restore a watch I had with a new band. I recently bought some off amazon but the grain side is rough.

Yeah don't use that, but keep it for practice leather. Tandy Leather is originally based out of Texas.I see several Tandy outlets in Texas. www.tandyleather.com/en/store-locator I love Amazon for tech and EDC, but I would NOT recommend buying leather from there. Ebay is sometimes a good option, but you need to know the terms/wording in the description. You can order online from Tandy, their nice stuff is usually called Royal Meadow (great) and Oak Leaf (is good), and European hides (are great very nice), those are the only tooling/vegtan leathers I would order from them. +Matthew Resendez Sure thing. I was thinking, if you don't need a whole hide, in the stores Tandy does sometimes have small bins with smaller pieces, you can pick out the nice ones. Also, I could probably sell you some pre-cut rectangle or square pieces... Never done that before, so I would need to figure out prices.... and you would need to know how thick leather you wanted.
