"Snyderverse" Clark Kent
In this episode, Dan goes into detail on how he constructed a custom McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse "Snyderverse" CLARK KENT action figure. This figure is mostly a creative kitbash between "DC Multiverse," "My Hero Academia," and "Dune" action figures, with an added piece from a Mattel "Jurassic Park" figure, and some custom-made pieces as well for added detail! I go over the construction of this figure from head to toe, including photos I took to document the process, as well as a list of all of the parts/figures you will need at home if you decide to try your hand at making one! This Clark Kent is based off of the likeness of Henry Cavill and his portrayal of Clark Kent/Superman in the Warner Brothers DCEU "Snyderverse" films, including "Man of Steel," "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice," and "Justice League: The Snyder Cut."

Thanks to your video I now have a great looking Clark Kent and 2 Bruce Wayne figures: Dark Knight older Bruce and regular Bruce wayne. I'm now getting ready to make a Thomas Wayne figure

Glad to hear it! I'd love to see them! One of the videos coming in the near future for our customs that we have going on, is an unmasked Arkham Batman with no cape, and at some point I would like to do a Bruce Wayne in a suit, but I may actually go non- McFarlane for the body. WWE just released a Triple H figure where it's him wearing a black suit. And I think that body would actually be pretty good for a Bruce Wayne body if I switched the head. But that's a back burner project... The 8 or so I've got lined up here are pretty cool already!

you could have used Diamond Select parts as well. I've learned from son of malebolgia (another customizer) that diamond select and Mcfarlane pieces fit well together and are in the same scale.

That is true, but one of the things I specifically try to do when making these is to use only parts from other figures by the same manufacturer. For this obviously I had a few different routes I could go with other figures from other lines, but that's part of the fun for me, it's like a puzzle I have to figure out, piecing together the right parts from different McFarlane figures.... 😁 -Dan

Thanks so much, Todd! I have to say, of all the ones I've made, this is definitely one of my favorite. It came out so much better than I thought it would. many of my customs begin life as just an experiment I'm wanting to try and hoping it will work, so when they come out this well it's definitely worth it. let me know if you have any questions on him. He was pretty easy other than the head and neck connection, and then just be really careful removing the glasses from Jurassic Park figures.

I got that All For One figure to make a Bruce Wayne. I think making a Clark Kent is better. Nice.

Bruce was who I had him as originally, but then I found a better body for him, so I switched heads. That figure will be coming soon.

Indeed! like a few others here, he started out as a Bruce Wayne for me, but then once I saw him standing next to a Superman body I knew that that was the route I had to go. so my unmasked Bruce Wayne turned actually into an unmasked Batman which I will go into in a future video fairly soon. right now I'm just trying to figure out if I want to put Earth magnets into his cape so that I can have a cape that comes on and off.

Also if you run into any trouble with Clark's neck, let me know and I may be able to help you out. I know I didn't go into that part as much as I could have because unfortunately while I was actually making it, it required a lot of very close-up work with a sharp blade and filming it with sort of out of the question at the time.

I mean not necessarily, there is the outside chance he could do it like WWE figure style, and have them be a separate piece that wraps around. but likely they would probably either be a separate piece that's tabbed and glued into the head right behind the ears, or it would be straight up just sculpted right on the face, which would definitely be the worst route to go.

@@VoidCityReviews I get that, and now that I think about it, characters like Polkadot Man have had removable Goggles, I was just thinking about how some characters they make stuff iremovable like the new Heatwave. But I see how they would make the glasses now.

@@dontcallmelego I think if they did it, I would like it if they did the glasses the way the Jurassic Park figures that just came out recently were done? That's actually where I got the glasses from. they are attached to the character's heads with little tabs right over their ears, but if you take an exacto blade and are very careful you can cut that off and then they have a full little set of glasses so depending on the figure they could probably set on them but I glued mine just because it's supposed to be Clark all the time. Take a look at some of the ultimate edition WWE figures, like the figure for hulk Hogan for example, he comes with some sunglasses that you can take on and off. I wish they were made with a little bit harder of a plastic so that they snapped on better, but they are small enough that they don't look like an oversized accessory like some of the McFarlane ones do *cough batarangs cough* 😂😂 overall though I feel like Clark Kent would just be too boring of a figure for McFarlane to make at this point haha.

Very nice custom! I just got the crappy S3 Select Sculpts Clark Kent figure from eBay and it’s a disaster! Mine has these freakishly long arms and a tiny head. Great video… I may attempt making one, like your figure.

Thank you very much! If you like the Superman content, you may want to stick around in about 2 weeks. My next two customs for the next two weeks are both Batman customs, pattinson, and then Keaton 1989, both McFarlane figures. but then after that there will be four straight weeks of Superman content. Superman from the '90s. Superman from a story that just happens to turn 30 years old this year..... Hint hint. ;-)

It's funny you should mention that one specifically. I am just about to sit down now and reassemble him. I had taken his arms and legs off for a time because I was trying out a few other combinations on him but I ended up not liking any of those so I'm going back with the original combo that I had. From there I just need to decide really quick how I want to paint him, and then I just need to put his two capes back on, and make sure that his fur neck lining also stays on the way I want it to. as for naming him, just keep an eye out for video called either "Badlands Batman" or "Monster Hunter Batman," I'm still not sure which of those two I am going to go with yet. But he should be up and posted probably I would say within the next month or so? Possibly less possibly a little bit more, just depends on what order of the videos get edited together and uploaded in and how quickly I get this guy reassembled.

Wouldn't that pretty much just be a slight repaint on dark Redeemer who is already available? They look pretty much the same as far as I remember.....

@@VoidCityReviews Its the first costume of anti spawn where he looks exactly like spawn but with a purple cape, I know theres both redeemer which is his current look and the dark redeemer but not seen any custom using the new mcfarlane bodies for classic anti spawn back when it was Jason Wynn

Great minds think a like I was going to do the same thing because I do not have a Clark Kent in a suit I was looking at that figure but the arm was too big I bought a figure that have a suit I might try that now first if it doesn’t work I probably do what you did but great job on that figure

Thank you very much. I was going to say the same when I saw the Mr freeze you made with the Warhammer figure. I've had one of those as a work in progress for probably about 5 or 6 months now. It's different from yours for sure, but we definitely started from the same building blocks. I'm just waiting for one more piece for mine and then I'm going to get back to work on that one as well. I will be finishing him up around the same time as a custom Bane I am working on. Thanks again!

Toast showed me which figure you meant, I see it as a Mattel figure. either way, I think those glasses would not be the right style for what I was going for. I like that my glasses are a bit more realistic and the correct size and modern looking which match to the Henry Cavill Superman and Clark Kent a lot more. now if I were going for a Christopher Reeve Clark Kent or superman, then I could see using those big Harry Carey glasses... 👍😂

I used the head from a black suit superman. The red and blue is on my shelf. I actually do have two of them I believe but the other one's in the box and the hair isn't so great. I just showed him as the example. That's crazy because in my area for the longest time we didn't see anything in stores and then I saw the black suit Superman once but then every other time I saw him it was the red and blue. If I ever see another one I will keep you in mind!

In my next custom video, which I have not announced yet because it's going to be a big surprise I think, I will address how I've pronounced it so far and I will make efforts to pronounce it correctly on video from now on. at least correctly for how he pronounces it. I still have to pronounce it the way I pronounce it when I do speech to text otherwise I get "McFarland," and that's his new TV show, not his name, which is a little bit confusing also haha. 😂

No need to shout! Cool recipe. I've considered using WWE figures for some customs in the past, but body wise they just don't seem to match in my opinion with the McFarlane figures or sculpts. that's why I try to, when making custom McFarlane figures, use as many actual McFarlane parts as I can. I did use a WWE John Cena for unmasked Peacekeeper though, the MacFarlane one looked nothing like him, sadly.

Maybe I will show my parts bins next time, I have a whole drawer full of hands. I have a drawer full of arms. A drawer full of legs and feet. A drawer full of torsos. A drawer full of heads. An entire box full of pegs just for necks and wrists and ankles.
