Yes I scuffed it and painted it and has held up a full season of racing but on the bell it’s a hard plastic I wouldn’t do it if rubbery. Tips are to use adhesion promoter and don’t build too much paint and it worked out for me.
If my helmet is black and all i want to do is paint some stencils and highlt in yellow, do i need to sand and paint the whole helmet white again and reatart it?
There is a proper way and what you can get by with and depends the paint you are using. I recommend you scuff the whole helmet and paint the inside of layout or where you want to use light colors white with a dust coating and then spray color on the white to get bright colors. Then clear the complete helmet 3 coats to lock it all in so it does not scratch right off easy 👌
