Have you ever tried to draft your own custom plus size top pattern but couldn't find a book or article who used a real body or a plus size body with real fitting challenges?
I've seen many books, articles and tutorials give instruction on how to draft your custom top pattern, but this Threads Magazine article by Judith Neukam does something that none of the others have done.
They use a plus size woman to draft a top pattern for.

Threads magazine has fabulous garment sewing articles ~ I tear out all my favorites & put them all in a big binder to refer back to.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS!! I AM 6'1" AND PLUS SIZE TOO.. I SO NEEDED THIS, I HAVE PATTERNS HERE IN MY HOME AND I HAVE NOT STARTED SEWING YET, BECAUSE I WAS INTIMIDATED BY THE IDEA OF MAKING THEM "CUSTOM FIT" FOR ME.. AFTER WATCHING YOUR VIDEO, I AM NOT SCARED TO MAKE THESE NOW!! Thank you, this is incredibly helpful. I think I will actually be able to try this for the first time. It's been feeling like a bit of an endeavour when all the other directions I've been able to find are worked so different to my body shape. (edited to add the link is still working, I've just downloaded the pdf - just clicked on download this article and it gave me the pdf instructions with no issue)

Thanks for this link. I'm went to the site and it's still there which is great all these years later! I'm in a online class but I ďo the lessens at my own time so no one is actually there to ask questions. I know the class has an online FB community but I'm not interested in being in any FB group but I guess that is a disadvantage but glad I found your video! Thank you

You are a gem. Thank you so much!!!! I love this vid. I'd like to find one for pants. I have problem with pants being too loose around the waist and bunching at the crotch area. It's super frustrating. I'd like to make my skirts and pants high waist. I think that's better style for women with wider hips.

Debbie, just an update on this, it's not free anymore. You now have to have Threads Magazine online subscription to get this resource.

WOW! I just follow the link. There's so many lines in that pattern, I feel a little bit intimidated but I'm also desperate, so I'm going to try because I've been trying to make a blouse with really bad results and I only have a week left to finish it. my big problem is the armhole for a sleeveless blouse, it's always opened, I did it twice. I hope this method help me with that. Thank you for the link and wish me luck, bye!
