I can no longer call my minivan camper a “no build”. My friend Patrice and I custom built a shelf to maximize the space to it’s full potential.
The three main benefits for the shelf:
• Extra storage
• Dependable and sturdy build
• Refrigerator space
I am so happy with our final results. The custom shelf for my Dodge Grand Caravan home on wheels is just what I envisioned.
It is perfectly imperfect, just like me!

Great job! Yesterday I sawed the legs down for my minivan's bed and it was the very first time in all my 66 yrs I ever sawed anything! So I get how proud you both should be of what you created. I can't wait to see the final product!

Those shelves are going to come apart when you start bouncing down the road and the screws wobble out of the holes. Why did you put the shelves underneath the metal brackets? Moving them to the top will have a lot more support. Thanks for not making me listen to the saw all the way through. Congratulations on being brave and learning how to use a power saw. This was enjoyable to watch! You need one of those saws😉. You could do this too, just takes practice. I was told at Lowe's they don't cut wood. Those rascals.i would draw plans and my late husband would build it. He was a Woodturning artist. You could drill little hole where you are going to put bars and hook bungie cord in each side hole on side. Going to remember that shelf

Great idea… I was doing a no build but the cot was too tall and wide and long it took up over half of my Van so I am stripping out everything and going to Home Depot.

@@AbiyahBina I am toying with the idea of storage bins with a board on top. It would be three at 11 in high. I might have to get one bin 12 in due to the slant of floor. I am first going to put down a rubber flooring with carpet over it. But the First thing I thought I would just put the bed on the floor and see what I need and where I want the bed. Because when I look at floor builds they take up inches of head room. I am 5’8 and need the headroom.
