You hit the nail on the head when you said proportionate. I think custom bumpers look ugly when it sticks out too far or too tall or even when the bumper angles don't match the angles of the pickup. You did a fantastic job
Impressive...not just the bumper which looks tough as nails but also your initiative to just build your own ...you give me hope for the younger generation Kenny...keep up the good work.
Fabricating front and rear bumper for my 91 Chevy. Looking at what other people have done even though I have the basic layout in my head of what I want. It’s always better when you make it yourself. Really good looking work my friend and something to be proud of every time you go to your vehicle. Keep that mind sharp n always thinking like you been doing.
You can add a SPDT switch and in one position the flush bumper lights will come on with your reverse lights giving you much more light than the OEM lights, and you can flip the switch in the opposite direction to manually turn therm on and the center position would be completely off. Nice work.
Great build! Yeah that bumper definitely woulda set ya back $1000 bux easy! Came out great! Im looking to build one on my Toyota this year with a hitch built in so I dont have to buy a tow package. Great job, love the fine details!
Hey man, that is great. I love it. I'm gonna build one for my '03 silvy. Remember my motto,...."A GRINDER AND SOME PAINT CAN MAKE A WELDER WHAT HE AIN'T,.....PERFECTO!!!!" Thanks for sharing the nice work.
Great project and nice final product. Almost everything I make has a rough sketch and a design in my head. Sometimes I build a small model to look for any improvements that need to be made. Guarantee that home made stuff will fit better and out last production line products if you pay attention to detail. Making it look good is most of the battle. My next purchase will be a plasma cutter.
Great job! am truly impressed how handy you are at such a young age. Parents must be very proud of you. Great job Kenny, have a great Memorial weekend . That bumper is awesome.
Thank you buddy, I've read all your comments on all my videos but it's hard to reply to all of them. Just wanted to let you know I do see them and appreciate them.
Awesome, you did a great job , the led lights will serve a an additional cargo light for hooking up to trailers in the dark.👍💪 you should consider making a similar bumper for the front. Mabe have a rugged wench on it lol
Hi Kenny..........I appreciate the time and effort that you put into your projects, AND the filming, editing and organization you put into your videos. I have learned tons from your videos, I wish I had learned these skills when I was younger. I tell my high school students to learn skills so that they can make money, or as in this case save money...........few do. Keep the videos coming!
how heavy is that bumper conpared to the stock? id consider making my own but id cut out the corners to make those chevy rear sidesteps that you see in all the 2017 silverado rear bumpers
Cool vid man those lights are also good for tailgaters lol but the bumper looks good man couldn't you do a relay setup where you have the lights hooked to the reverse lights and a toggle switch so you could use them either way with or the without the truck in reverse just curious bc I've thought about doing it that way
Great job Kenny. Have you considered reversing sensors and maybe even a camera too? If you have another rear bump you'll demolish whatever you hit with that thing lol.
Are you planning on getting a lift kit for your truck or any other accessories i work for an auto accessory shop and i just put a 6" lift on a truck just like yours with 37" nitto tires made the truck look a lot better and perform a lot better just not on gas lol
Kenny, if you aren't sure, you may want to ask at your shop if grade 8 bolts wouldn't be a better choice for bolting that bumper up to the frame, rather than those grade 5 bolts. Just a thought here, while viewing your video. May want to take it off and do some rust prevention as well, on the bumper (and possibly the frame), whenever you get time (and funds).
well done! Yet again, another way you could make money, support a family, pay for college. Yes, tons of hours...but we all know the labor is the most expensive part of any item we buy. $1000...even if you did 1 a month, income potential...if you found yourself with the need for more $. Great job!
