Absolutely phenomenal attention to detail. It’s videos like these that inspire me to get back out into the garage and practice.

@@Resurrected_metalshaping And thats the point mate. Hard to get enough time behind the tools when its a hoby and not a full time job. Will be having a crack at the same reverse cowl job on my spare HK bonnet for my Premier project. Have seen a bloke south of Perth advertising the cowls for a reasonable price. If not for blokes like you taking the time to film your work It would be very hard to learn new tricks and skills. Appreciated and subscribed. And please keep the good vids coming mate.

I've actually done a few of these a few years ago its funny to see someone do the inner frame exactly the same. i used to make the scoops from 1 piece i would wheel the top quite alot put the bead in while its flat then fold the edges down and shrink them by hand like a big flange in the shrinker then i can gradually get it to the shape i want it then trim it and fold the bottom flange to the bonnet profile then do the front and back flanges and weld it in i used to put a wire edge in the open end aswell and tie that in for strength i still have some pics of one just like yours but just under 3 inch looks almost identical
@Resurrected_metalshaping
@Resurrected_metalshaping 4 месяца назад
That’s good you did the inner frame the same. I do think it makes for a good finish underneath.

Really amazing work and attention to detail. I sure appreciate your videos. Only one question I have it looked like you removed all the areas where the upper skin was bonded to the lower framework. What will keep the upper skin from lifting or fluttering at speed? Maybe I’ve missed something here. Never actually taken a hood apart so I’d appreciate your insight..
@danielxuereb9537

Yes I was wondering the same thing! As a guess some sort of seam sealer in between?
@Resurrected_metalshaping
@Resurrected_metalshaping 4 месяца назад
Thank you. And yes I cut out the original spots where it glues down. There is a bonnet seam sealer that gets put under the flanges. The bonnet seam sealer can flex so it doesn’t pull the bonnet skin. So it’s always good to get the right seam sealer also it gets glued standing put if you glue a bonnet upside down it will set with the skin pushed in that’s another thing to look out for.
