Hello Bear Campers, finally someone who uses a professionally prefabricated standard trailer as a base. I've had this idea also for a long time, right up to larger trailers (3,500 kg TW, with brakes), to install self made caravans on these chassis. For example, car transport trailers are without drop sides, so you have the pure chassis. You can be sure that those chassis meets the technical requirements, even with the permissible total weights. In the end, such a trailer is also cheaper than a self-assembled chassis, which then has to be tested and certified by the technical inspection organisation (TÜV, in Germany). I think you need to start a RU-vid channel! Your idea sounds brilliant. It makes total sense; not just legally; for piece of mind, to buy a pre built trailer. Luckily our mystery client had the fortune to buy a galvanised one too! The TUV standards like the beer in Germany, are the best!

@@BearCampers Hello Bear Campers, I fully agree with using a trailer chassis. It is technically mature and has the technical approvals. What's more, you already have all the add-on parts, such as the stabilizer, brakes (above 750 Kg TW), trailer hitch with handbrake, adjustable supports, lighting and much more. So, you don't have to search for them and order everything separately. You have a complete under body (often with a base plate, which may still need to be insulated). The frame plate (technical data) is also already attached. You can start from here and get your overall approval relatively easily. I've thought about having my own YT channel, but I'm not ready to turn it into a series. I don't have the means to continue with other orders after building my own. That would require setting up a small company, with all the risks involved these days. Orders would also be lacking. I would have to start from scratch and survive a lean period. So, I choose the second best and enjoy the ideas and their realization of others in this topic. Best, Adi ....Thank you for the Beer- and TÜV compliments. Hey @@HenrikTorget , we used a commercial variant of the paint ‘Hammerite’ it’s super paint for trailers.
