Offset motor mounts are intended as they are stronger than having them in the same position - it's the same as when using nails or screws in wood.

So a couple of suggestions, Angel. To help with your weld consistency, clean off the mill scale (that dark outer layer) from what you're welding when using hot rolled material like that. Also, cleaning it just prior to welding with alcohol or acetone will help as well. Clean, shiny metal nearly always welds better. DO NOT use Brakleen... Second suggestion is a "next time"... your mount bracket braces could have been on the bottom and done the same thing. That would have left the entire top open for mount clearance. It works fine as is, but more clearance is more clearance. Great job so far! Happy New Year!

Man, my first car in 1985 was a '66 Mustang. Even though that was so many year ago, I remember how the 302 I put in it sat. That engine you've put in is SO low and SO far back! That's going to be amazing for weight distribution! So cool!

Like the suggestion you mentioned, always add washer for the welds that way it accounts for paint/coatings/powder coat. looking good!

Hi Angel, nice job on the motor mounts. Welds don't have to be pretty, but we all try our best and as you proved they are solid. I don't know if your welder does stick, but in tight spots it is always worth a try. Regards, Dave

Ive been told porosity is due to the presence of rust scaling - not to worry - the mounts look solid AF. Thanks for sharing this part of the build and have a great 2024

I'm curious why you didn't put the extra bracing under the mounts so you had more 'wiggle' room on top.

Rays auto and paint has 2k gloss black cans we could paint the parts with 🤔

Wow I guess the car sits pretty low, so my suggestion in your other video to let air out of the tires to have more clearance above the radiator support when putting the engine in won’t work in this situation 😎. Any car I’ve done this with had more clearance underneath for the hoist to roll under it, I must have always gotten Lucky 😊. Keep up the good work it’s moving along. Happy New Year

You will like the Nippex flush cut side cutter on zip ties, assuming you like your blood on the inside and not on your car or floor.

You could take a few thousandths or more off of those spacers you’re using in a lathe, surface grinder or used a hand grinder carefully. Then you won’t have to hammer them in 😊

So are you going to borrow Sarah's dry ice cleaning machine and get a laser welder that cleans , cuts and welds too - look waterjet hook up like 3d printer

Does that mean your transmission hump shifter hole and transmission mount crossmember also have to move rearwards by the same amount?
