Really nice job. I'm weeks behind you on almost the same project, and I'm quite smiling seeing you moving the engine, the same way I did, not so far ago. That's quite a heavy baby. I'm following your project with attention. Good luck
Well done that man. Coming together nicely. I like the variation in matt and gloss finishes in the black between the frame and engine, visually it pops in the close up shots! Looking forward to seeing all the hard work shine through as this progresses.
Those climbing muscles are coming in handy! Well, in lifting that block 💪🏾 buzzing to see it coming together after all this time and anticipation. Great work bro can't wait to get out on a run with you on that bad boy! 😎
Hi Euan, hope you're keeping well. FJ is looking pretty amazing already, bet you needed a wee rest after that lift. :) Well done. Stay safe and keep up the good work. 👍🏿✌🏿
Coming together very nicely. Having also lifted the engine into my own XJR felt a certain part of me tighten watching you. Really like the way this is going together 👏👏
Looking so good dude! 2 things though: 1 - holy crap that's a lot of engine to lift solo and your face confirmed this 😅 2 - Thats a trick oil filter location! I haven't seen one like that
Looks spot on euan Just got one of my xjr 13 custom frames back from powder yesterday and chomping at the bit to get on with it but still undecided as to Which finish to go with on the motor ..
Absolutely gorgeous. I would like to know if you or anyone in the comments has any experience of the XJR engine overheating after its been painted or coated? I previously used black engine enamel paint and the engine ran extremely hot. Maybe i put too many coats on it? I've since stripped it back to bare metal and then just two light coats of silver paint and it's running perfect again. Anyone?
Interesting to hear! I've used Cerakote which actually has heat dispersal properties. It's also microns thick so shouldn't affect running temperatures.
