Last time I did a clutch was in the early 90's on a Volvo 343 variomatic. RWD vehicle so it was easy, we did it on the drive and only took us about 2 hours.
Wicked vid as ever. Have you done a wet belt on a focus 1.0 ecoboost? I have done a few fiestas but just checking the focus is more or less the same job. Cheers baz 🤘🏼
Yep, if it weren't for the clutch slipping it would still be in there... Nothing wrong with the oil and pointless charging for something that isn't needed
@@bazmeredith it isn't pointless. you have a fluid at a specific viscosity that then has shear stress subjected to it. meaning it'll degrade, add in the temperature cycles and the fact that oil carries contaminants in suspension... I wouldn't have said it's an upsell but a requirement. each to their own of course :)
@@LogoWHSmith It's not just viscosity (which is the minor aspect believe it or not) as that mainly affects fuel economy. It is the anti-wear and extreme pressure additives which deplete AND you can not tell when that oil has worn out, it'll look perfect stil. Gearboxes aren't sealed either, meaning condensation is an issue too. The £30 it costs me for genuine gbox oil improves fuel economy which pays itself off!
