That transfer case just blew my mind. What the hell do you have to do to even end up in that situation? Drive off a cliff. I offroad my Jeep on a regular basis and can't imagine ever being in that state. Wow

I scored an escort zx2 like that for $400. Put new belt and component kit on it for $50, drive for a few months, then sold for $1000. Mid 30mpg’s, even idling through a movie at the drive in with the car idling for heat!

If anyone is interested in making a smoke generator ( like Rays expensive one) on the cheap for as little as 15 bucks there are many DIY videos on YT that shows you how. I built one using a cheap soldering iron, a pickle jar, and some fittings. It uses baby oil and an old sock for a wick. It works as well as Ray's.

The Subaru water pump bolt was epic and deserves its own "disaster" video documenting the whole story - and disaster averted, awesome, we're so happy for you! You are welcome to clip in our "Subaru Bolts" cook - which was named for you - into any of your videos for any reason - even to make fun of us! Our channel is to celebrate people with head injuries. Veterans, police, first responders, just walking down the street - anyone can become disabled basically at random. Our channel name and tone is deliberately controversial and memorable. But our channel is also to say, "Hey, you have a head injury, you can still do something amazing!".Joel had the head injury and spent months in a coma. His intelligence and kindness and sense of humour is still there, but his attention span is not. Anyone who has ever wrenched on a car knows... and we were watching and cringing every time you welded to that stupid Subaru bolt, and saying, "Oh, fsck, poor Ray" every time the nut broke off the weld. I showed the Subaru bolt extraction to a bunch of friends - when you got it out, we were all cheering and cracking open beers and celebrating for you. I have the utmost respect for what you do. I have done some pretty major automotive repairs including several engine rebuilds, engine swaps, ball joints, stupid coil spring compressor ideas, dropping and swapping rear axles, clipped car bodies together - don't ask about the 3-door Dodge Aries. And these are rust-belt cars where every single bolt becomes a corroded minefield. 1972 Chrysler New Yorker falls off the welded-rim car stands in a junkyard and lying there for an hour under the car until the very best loader operator in the yard puts the forks between my stomach and the floor of the car? I was yelling "Tilt up! Tilt up!" and my buddy was yelling that to the loader operator. The loader slipped between me and the car and pushed us apart then lifted the car off me. Aside from a few bruises and scratches, I was miraculously okay.. Been there, done that. I kissed the forks on that loader afterwards. The insanely talented operator of that loader picked up that 5,000lb car without hurting me. Could I be a mechanic and do it as a career? Heck, no! But I have scraped the knuckles and have enough hot manifold scars to know it is not easy. Do I respect a good Automotive Service Technician? Hell, yes, with every fiber of my being. And I love your ethics. I guess I'm about 10 years older than you are, and I have always liked the older cars, so you show me about the modern stuff on our roads today. Rebuilding the wiring harness/brake lines/fuel lines, new/used transfer case mabye a new drive shaft(plus whatever got damaged when all the stuff got ripped lose). That bill must have been insane.
