We just have to do it the right way. We all know most of the problems we run across is due rust and customer neglect. If we can educate and inform, the cars will last longer and we would have more happy customers.

this is greta for the 4 rings. free advertising for them and it shows the company hires extremely competant mechanics who know what they are doing. great PR for them and i hope they realize that its a bonus and beenfit for them

Actually, it is the opposite. Audi knows it’s customers, the repeat ones and engineers vehicles to keep them returning. The mechanical details, difficulties, service requirements and costs are typically not a concern. The Audi mechanics gets trained and paid to do jobs as specified. The Audi trifecta: high labor fees, high cost of parts, excessive time allotted per job insured high profits for service departments. The car owners are happy, the mechanics enjoy their pay and dealerships relish the profits. Did you see VW brand spark plugs? Audi, VW, Porsche share the same parts with different boxes. Audi prices are higher. Cannot estimate the bill for the oil change, inspection, sparkies, cabin filter, service added fees. But I can guess it’s north of $400. Waaay north.

Sounds about right, but if you have a good sucker with a good hose you can get almost all of it out of the pan. Say a vehicle takes 8 quarts. I can put 7.7 in just in case, when we warm up the engine to temp and check the oil level, most of the time i am topping off with a little.

I really wish CSW would stop using these fake units of measurement; the official units of measurement are "meters per Ugga Duggas" or m-UD.

They were, as per Audi service 40k gets plugs for this engine.

Are they going to put them in their glove box? Never had a customer ask for parts back on a warranty service, let alone a customer pay service.

Those coils are easy. Some Subarus you have to loosen the engine mounts to get the coil packs out.

Could be on an inspection basis only. I would inspect it and if its dirty, replace it. Same goes for your cabin air filter.

Should be replaced yearly unless you're in dusty conditions, then more often.

@@customerstateswhat It's a 2016 I bought used from the same dealer two years ago. I have done a chemical decarbon cleaning, which is the same as what they say they would do. The dealer isn't taking it apart and doing walnut blasting or something like that.

I will always use anti seize on plugs. Have you ever delt with a seized spark plug? Or even better, a broken one in the head?

Aluminium corrodes any metal it comes in contact with. Ungal steel especially so. Anti seize stops this reaction.

There are ones with a top tank to see and measure what you take out. I like them makes service faster and much easier. As long as you have vacuum and a good tube going down to the pan you get 95% of it.

@@customerstateswhat thanks for the reply. I have an air compressor at home so like the red one like you had in the video looks like it would be better than the ones you see advertised that have a manual pump with a clear tall cylinder.

I have an extractor (MityVac) that I use to change the oil in my VW diesel. The car has a full cover underneath that I don't want to mess with so it does make it easier. The tank is opaque and I have marked how many quarts on the side of it. A tip is to compare the extraction tube with the oil dip stick to make sure the tube is going in 'all the way.'

@@redauwg911 not to much oil left behind considering whats in the complete system that never gets removed. Ie oil coolers and various channels. I dont see that small amount causing any issues when being changed regularly
