Been a service tech for over 20 years and we really are vulnerable to these character attacks, I've had accusations of kicking a dog to stealing a flashlight, you're lucky when they call back and admit there mistake. "GoPro to protect"

I'm a black service tech and I practice to let it be known whenever I'm moving from one area to the next by saying sir or mam I'm going to the van or I'm going upstairs just to let them aware of my movements without having to wondering where I'm at, one of the worst feeling is to catch a customer searching for you .

Some weirdo calls me and accuses one of my guys of stealing a bag of money from his father. I called my tech and he described the entire call and had no idea what this guy was talking about. He has been with me over 20 years. He also told me the father has alzheimers. The son wasn't even there and I told him he was mistaken. This dirtbag started making threats. He wanted my techs contact info and I refused to give it to him. He looks up my business gets my home address and walks into a gated community. Knocks on my door and started with the same nonsense. I told him to leave and called the cops on him. He was gone by the time they came but I gave them his and the fathers info. Nothing ever became of it. The point was I doubt the father actually had money in bag. He may have told his idiot son he did. Instead of using common sense the son just went with what his elderly mentally challenged father said. I was pissed.

That's crazy bro. Haven't been accused of stealing but have had the cops called in a "Rich neighborhood" working on a front roof putting up solar panels with a co worker. Both wearing green company labeled shirts with a green company labeled box truck parked out front. Approached us while at the truck, with clear sight of ladder set up to roof, and asked what we were up to . Both of us same complexion as you. Was in Sunnyvale Ca

Bro , I haven’t had someone accuse me of stealing but I’ve had a customer accuse me of causing a problem with their system once I left to go get a part , then they called another company to fix the preexisting issues that I diagnosed but then blamed me and tried to have my company pay for it.

Its like that worker who got accused and arrested for a missing delivered item that was actually just misplaced or delivery rejected. People forget and lose their shit. I do it frequently

I'm more paranoid about incompetent techs making a catastrophic simple error and not admitting it than them outright stealing. But that's a frustrating story for sure. BTW your title misspelled it as "steeling". That's the metal kind 😉.

Time for mini /concealed body cams.. while working.. If accused? Depending on the state laws.. keep it till its time for discovery in court.. and take the possible wire tapping or other charge for recording..

I tried to tell somebody on another channel about this. Wish I could have used this channel for reference. A guy offered me a Rolex that he said cost $15k. I denied the offer because he can easily call the cops and say I stole it. This happens working with the public and people need to be aware of this. They will lie for no reason. They have money. Just to laugh. I had a women call the cops and say I tried to kidnap her in a work van. The real cops showed up. Ten to 20 cop cars. LOL People are crazy!!!!
