Clearly Connie looks amazing. It's very relaxing to watch someone else create something like this. Particularly liked the way you blushed the face with the airbrush.
Im really glad you found it enjoyable! Thank you so much 😊 I was worried I’d mess that up but it was so quick to apply and soft and subtle looking, I’ll definitely keep it in my repertoire!
@@BethRamsden Wow tysm... I totally wanna pick some up now ♥️ you’re so helpful, tysm...not many would share their tricks or tools...but I’m excited to try customizing a different type of doll. Blythes are new to me but I’m loving their look. If only I could get them to sit without falling lol
@@LittleCraftyKitty no problem! I’m happy to share what I can 😊 Haha yeah if you figure that out let me know 😂 those big heads take a lot of balancing!!
Thank you for this tutorial! I can only dream of making one right now, by hopefully in the future i will have all the resources to make one for each of my children. I have a 4 year old daughter and a 6 month old son. Im a nurse by profession, and work almost 16 hrs per shift, i bearly have time for my family😢 i really wanted to do art like this but right now its now feasible. But im inspired by your video to work on my american dream so that ill have more time with my family and the resources i will need to make some of my dreams a reality.
Aww! Thanks so much for watching! It must be incredibly hard to find time for yourself right now 😔 I hope you’ll be able to make a start, even just a little bit of time now and then, it’s a great creative outlet that I never get bored of myself. I started out crafting while my daughter was napping, and it eventually grew and grew! ✨🥰✨
Have you ever tried you acrylic paints you used for the eye chips in a air brush machine? I have one but it’s originally for makeup 😂 but it works the same. Haha omg hun she’s adorable..I got my face plate and another Blythe.
Yes the acrylics are great in the airbrush! You just need to carefully thin them down first. Oh wow that would be fun to spray on a real face! 🤣 Oooh yay! Have fun with them!
@@LittleCraftyKitty I think you can use water, I have acrylic thinner so have always just used that, just be careful to thin it slowly to avoid lumps that could clog the spray and you should be okay! 😄
Either airbrushed paint or pastels would work well to change the whole of a dolls face colour, just build up the colour gradually, and seal the colour between coats ^_^
Absolutely, my most recent custom (#6) video shows exactly that! I bought some hand carving tools to try out, and had great results. Much less messy too!
I think Gouache would be the most forgiving, since it can be wiped/dabbed away with clean water if you're not loving the results. When you're happy with a layer it can be 'saved' by sealing it with your varnish. Acrylic is nice too, but once it dries, even if you haven't varnished over the top yet, it won't easily come off again. Hope that helps! Thank you for watching! ^_^
I love here eyes I want a custom so bad I wish they weren't all $500+ I have a little ICY doll I got for cheap online. Idk if I trust someone to ship her off to have her done.
She's beautiful. Thank you for filming your process! I'm sorry if it's been asked already, but what is the name of the main paint you've used? I'm not sure if RU-vid spelled it correctly on closed caption. Thanks!
Hi! Oh for this one I believe it was gouache paint. It’s not really the usual method used for these face ups though, usually it’s pastel powder and pencil 😊 it worked out okay though here!
Ooh, I haven't done any with extra piercings yet, but I would either stick a nail art stud to the face/ears for a subtle stud look, or I would carefully drill holes to push a U shaped piece of wire into, to look like a ring/loop ^_^
A really great tip I was given was to use a little vaseline on a cotton ball to wipe down the face, after fully sanding it smooth (start at 400, 600, 800... up to around a 1200 grit). This helps grab and remove the tiny particles. Then give the face a wash with soap, before spraying your first layers of sealant. Hope that helps!
The materials used on this face are shown in the video, but typically it’s brushed on pastel, acrylic or gouache paint, and watercolour pencils. Each is used in small amounts, and will not fade if treated well. You can use mr super clear UV cut for added protection against UV light, but you shouldn’t keep any dolls in prolonged direct sunlight/on windowsills anyway, as this is the biggest cause of fading ☺️
Hi there! If you watch my customising videos like this one (there aren’t too many) I do say what I’m using each time. You generally want to use a rotary tool or hand carving tools for sculpting, pastels and watercolour pencils for shading and detail, gouache or acrylic paint is optional for detail, and some sort of clear top coat or varnish to use between layers and to seal it all in. Hope that helps! 😊
Ooh good question, I showed the same type of process when I made my first custom on the channel: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NKzoGYlW874.html&si=Skv6DZrXgwWzFO3r I hope that helps! If it’s not what you’re looking for let me know, maybe I can do a short video about it ☺️
@@BethRamsden thank you! That was helpful. If you ever want to make a short updated video on this process I’d love to watch! I don’t see any videos out there with it painted on paper.
Hi! You’ll see the materials I use in my customising videos, check out my Customising Blythe playlist for more 😁 I also have an FAQ on my website with materials and links too! I hope that helps! ✨😁✨
Hi! Yes I do plan to do that soon, I will be starting with a middie Blythe, hopefully before the end of this year 😊 I will announce it in a video and it will be sold in my website shop, so stay tuned 😉
Dear B. I must say how much I respect you admire you and love you . For the art you show as with love and patience. Now days people is so greedy that will not show you how they do anything I simply admire brave people who God have give them the heart of teachers ❤️❤️🙏🙏💕💕🥰🥰we need them in this world .
@@tangocashrocky ¡Oh, no! Es una pena, lo siento, no puedo explicar por qué no funciona para ti :( ¡Muchas gracias por mirar, espero que los subtítulos funcionen en mis otros videos para ti! ^_^
