Great, gonna be picking one of these up. Nice spot bro, I was wondering where the mountain were??? didn’t know you were standing on top of it lol. The only issue is for the price is it should come with inner fender liners. Still really great rig though
I've been longing for the the IFS in a scale IFS vehicle. I hate how so many scale vehicles have the wrong suspension for what they are. Would love to see someone make pickup truck kits that are IFS front and leaf rear just for some scale greatness. Not really any OEM vehicles are triangulated 4 links and what not. Would be cool if this was a 5 link rear like the real 4Runner.
This does have the design of the gen 5 4Runner. If I had one of these or get a clear body of this (someday) I can slap some toyota badges and make it look like the TRD Pro
Cool vid and rig! I've been using my 1/10 baja rey (straight axle rear with IFS front) with fully locked diffs as a crazy trail truck/rock racer and it's super fun. I wonder if Traxxas will release a 1/10th scale straight axle rear IFS front vehicle?
Love the Rock Rey, finished up building one over the winter. The Proline Hyrax SCTXL tires work well for me and give it a Side by side appearance, rather than a rock bouncer
Interesting, but Element missed some needed stuff: no body posts, no inner fender liners, no scale interior & it doesn't appear the front tires are lined up in the wheel wells. The accessories are nice, but I'll hold off on this one.
Nailed it with this review. I bought this truck and agree 100%. It is a great rig for scale driving. The plastic grommets absolutely need glue, and yes the rear axle has slop/noise.
Nice1 Greg as usual, I really enjoy your reviews! I picked one up the only issue I have it seems the entire truck has been setup in reverse and is faster backwards than forwards out of the box? trying to get my head around it. I dont recall you mentioning this is the review - steering and throttle is reversed.
Probably but the thing closest to the ground is the bash plate. Also if they where to raise it they would have to change the universal joint to a cv joint which is a little more expensive and might require more service. They would also have to find a way to widen the cv axle from the diff to the wheels to keep the final drive smooth.
It actually does better than expected my friend bought one upgraded it to 1.9 wheels and 4.19 tires still doesn't keep up with my sport but very impressive rig
It looks like it could be, but I was actually having a very hard time removing the stock bumper last night. It looks like it holds in with just 4 of those push circle things on pegs, but when I got them all removed it felt like the bumper might have been glued in place. I wasn't expecting that. I'm trying to find a video of someone on RU-vid removing it so I can see if there actually is glue holding it.
Im looking for a modern 4Runner RC to match my truck, this seems to be the only one that isnt a retro 4Runner. Disappointed its a trail truck not a crawler and lack of wheel wells at that price. Id probably prefer a 1/24 if it was available but everyone seems to make jeeps!
new to Rc crawlers. I noticed my new element trail runner has the red and black cables connected different. In the vid they are connected red to red and black to black. Can I pull on the cables to unplug and connect them as shown in 9:53?
Just picked one of these up. Overall happy with it, but I would suggest your first upgrade being slightly larger tires. The ground clearance on this little beast is pretty bad out of the box compared to something like, say... The Redcat Gen 8 Scout II. I found myself getting high centered on just about everything under the sun this afternoon where the guys I was out with had no issue with their crawlers. One of which being the previously mentioned Gen 8.
I've owned a original scx10 rtr a original wraith rtr an rc4wd trail truck kit 4 link not sure what one and a trx4 not sure what I'll get now but this and a wraith 1.9 rtr or maybe the smt10 convert to a mud truck with the tractor tire mud grabbers
Can you fit a 5200 3s battery in these and how long would it last im looking for a 2-3 hr trail walker that keeps up with my walking just to drive around all day
I feel like if those are decals on the windows,I could trim around the molding and make the fronts a little more clear 🤔 but great looking truck honestly.
Hard Parts? - Are all of the Hard Parts that we have had to buy extra$ now standard/pre-installed on this TrailRunner or do they only use a few hard parts here and there? Lexan Body - Is it a thicker like the trailwalker or brittle like senduro? Thank you.
Great job as usual. Had to laugh regarding the "warm" servo. I did not baby my Trailwalker enough in the rocks and the servo let me know by burning up inside. Something I was going to replace anyway, as you suggest.
Yeah, this video was shot last week. The servo is still working, but I’ve been mostly trail hiking. I think a servo swap will come sooner if I start stressing the rig on some rocks.
@@rcdriver I also agree on the ESC and low-speed descending. Had it felt a tad more precise I would have kept it (gave it 3 months) because it's almost there. A certain ESC known by four digits spoils you for anything else.
Ok man I have a few questions so I’m sorry for bothering but I’m new to rc world so I been looking around at these crawlers and I was wondering can you make them faster if I ever wanted to and if so is it as simple as bigger batteries like I hear folks talk about 4s and 6s and also what would you recommend for someone that wants something fun and exciting but I don’t want to spend 500 bucks on my first real rc. I want a crawler but I would also love to be able to drive it a fast speeds at Times
Carisma makes the F-150 you were looking at. The SCA-1E is a great platform. Gmade makes the GS02 Komodo Double Cab which comes with a Raptor type body.
Well, it's tough. To make it look as good as the SCX10.3, it would need inner fenders, proper light buckets, and an interior. Even then, it's still an unlicensed body.
It really needs some decals. Other than that that white body looks good 👌 And solid front axel is in the box 😳👌 Well done element 👍 I just build my element kitt. Its my first 1/10 crawler and i can wait to run it 😁
I broke two ring and pinion in my Sendaro(broke easily which was odd). Finally just swapped out axles to Boom Racing Badass AR44. So much stronger now. Much happier with the strength and extra weight makes it climb incredible. Steers better too if you can believe that.
